Matt, this mustang is going to look unreal. The CF parts and wheels look amazing.
|
WOW Matt!! That does look killer. The paint, the carbon fiber and wheels are going to look so good together. Very nice build. Keep us posted!
|
Here's one of the wheels when we dropped them off at the powder coaters. Evod sanded and polished the tops of the spokes which was a big job and turned them around in no time for extraordinary results! The tops of the spokes and the polished rims will be masked and the middles will be powder coated a sort of magnesium color.

This shot gives a better idea of the mods that were made to get the exhaust to exit out of the rockers. They had to modify the floor and go through the frame rails.

Great work guys.

The exhaust is really clever  Matt where are those cool cad plated suspension bolts from?? |
You are digging on my gold cad plated bolts which are specially ordered from ARP, no? They are jewel like, yes? If I were the gold chain wearin' type, I would wear them around my neck and leave the top 4 buttons on my shirt undone just to show them off with my wild and crazy crispy chest hairs! The chicks, they would not be able to stand me
|
This shot shows how the floor has been modified to clear the driver's side exhaust as it turns up and over the torque arm and through the rocker panel
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/c...g/Oct11006.jpg Here's the bottom of the same area. You can also see that the cross member where the front of the arm attaches has been notched on top to allow for the oval tube exhaust to clear over it. http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/c...g/Oct11009.jpg |
That's some killer work MaTT!!

Picked up the hood and fenders from Mick today and I fit the mesh screens I made into the hood. The hood turned out really nice. I'll get pics of the fenders later, but they are very nice too.

Here's a cool little detail. Steve put a battery shut off in the trunk that has a cable to actuate it remotely from the driver's seat.

Battery shut off

No attempt to hijack. I wish I had seen your battery shut-off cable earlier. Very nice! I did something similar, but used an alluminum push rod and a bellcrank on the roll bar to put the shut-off near the trailing edge of the drivers window. It would have been easier to fire-seal with a cable.

Cars looking great..cant wait to see it at SEMA
wheels and hood are awesome:thumbsup: |
Here's a nice touch. It's a map light (between the sun visors) from an 80's fox body Mustang from ebay that has a swing arm that unclips and can be pointed in any direction. The plastic base cover just happens to match the red interior color exactly, so it didn't need to be painted. It's one of those things that just happen work out perfectly which rarely happens when custom building a car. Everything else is usually more of a struggle trying to get things to fit just right, etc.
