are those recovered factory cts-v seats? they look great!! bummer on the paint issue

64pontiac 10-23-2011 08:39 AM

They are Recaro Trend Toplines (can't get them anymore, out of production!) Then Leatherseats.com made us KILLER custom leather skins.

Rybar 11-07-2011 05:15 PM

Did anyone get any more shots of this car? I think it's an exceptional build as well. Have barely seen any photos of it.

Tyler, is was great to meet you. I wish we had a chance to talk cars.

waynieZ 11-07-2011 08:28 PM

Tyler you and your guys did an awesome job! The pictures look sweet.....

67RSRAG 11-21-2011 07:58 PM

Fantastic build!
I noticed you ran a h pipe, did you have enough room to run a x-pipe with the speedtech torque arm? or was it by choice.
Also I noticed you have a custom top frame. Did you have to do anything special to the frame to clear the minitubs? I am debating the torque arm for my vert as well

64pontiac 11-22-2011 06:35 AM

It was awesome to meet everyone that I got to run in to!

Sema thrash was a totally exhausting experience, but I can't wait till next years!!

I will get some pics up, as soon as my camera makes it back home. It ended up in one of my guys bags that went on to florida, so I am playing the waiting game. We are finishing up a couple little things on the car, and will be doing a photoshoot in a warehouse next month, so look out for that.

Sorry we haven't been posting much, the last month and a half have been nuts!

H-Pipe: Had to do this due to the way the convertible torque arm mounts, coupled with the length of the 6x trans........ I would be very interested to see how anyone fit a true x pipe into a torque arm car though! It is TIGHT if you want 3 inch and don't want it to hang to far.

But an amazing suspension system though! No cutting into the interior!!

Here is our latest piece, it was thought of after paint, otherwise we would have made a pocket and radius reveal for it like the tail lights have from the factory....it will have to do.

The center of the rectangular piece and the dish in the cap will be media blasted for texture and colored a grey like the surrounds of the Marquez tail lights (which the border and chamfer match) and the radial bolt pattern will have cap screws like the Ring Bros. door handles. Also, its not polished yet, we JUST finished it today and wanted to see what it looked like!

I haven't been able to find another vert running the torque arm. This might be a make or break it for me on the torque arm suspension, I like everything else about it. Can you post a clearer picture of the part of the exhaust that goes through the torque arm and a side profile pic. I will be running 2.5" with a 4l60e so I might have some more clearance. I prefer not to go DSE but I can get an x-pipe under a DSE.

Thank you

64pontiac 11-23-2011 07:07 AM

67RS- Here is a pic of the exhaust mockup...... You can see the convertible specific torque arm mount and floor bracing eat up valuable realestate

67RSRAG 11-23-2011 04:43 PM

Thanks Tyler for the detailed pic. Need to figure out maybe Speedtech can modify it for their next version to allow a x-pipe. Kinda like the Hotchkis crossbrace I have now. Holy crap I was going through some old e-mails and I just realized I bought my front coil overs from you last year.

Thanks Tyler

There will be no modifications going forward, the Realestate is tight and this is the best example of how to build the 3" (three) exhaust on a convertable. BTW the Nova has room for an X pipe.

Very Nice !

64pontiac 08-30-2012 07:11 PM

Ok guys, sorry for the major major delays! When we got the car ready this spring for its first year of use, the customer decided that we should replace the modified Marquez door panels with the new CTS-V coupe door panels. When we built the car and got the dash, they didn't have a coupe and the door panels were too short...... then they had to come out with a coupe and make my life hard!

Anyways, we just got it back from the upholstery shop FINALLY and are getting some use out of it. Thought you would want to hear how it sounds!

The motor is super potent thanks to Mast Motorsports M90 and their custom tune, and it drives absolutely amazing. It feels like a supercar with this interior!

When you open a 'reply, you'll see the slanted green cubed shaped icon next to the 'V' on the far right.

Then, take and copy the letters/numbers/symbols from the youtube vid between the = signs, and paste those in between the youtube brackets.

Usually though I paste the youtube letters numbers etc. stuff first, highlight it, and then click on the slanted green cube.

Don't leave any spaces though between what you are pasting and the brackets.

Give it a try.

HEEP 08-31-2012 08:35 AM

Tyler, that thing sounds awesome. Love the whole concept of that Camaro. Good luck in your new shop, you need to post some pictures of it soon.
Also, looking forward to getting my frame kit in a couple of days.
