Greg, we are going to try and come on watch on Saturday.

A neutral stone like travertine or even granite would be a lot less work. No matter where you camp, you will be in and out of the rig more than you think. Also, i'm sure you will have plenty of visitors at events. I wouldn't have black floors in my house.

Downside to travertine is KoolAid stains it real easy. :D

Agree on the dark color and dust those it is easier to dust mop than damp mop. One issue to consider with natural stone is it can be like black-ice when wearing socks. Those issues can be offset with area and runner rugs though.

Now that Gwen is retired... we're going to try to use show dates and track dates as an "excuse" to get out of the Pacific NorthWet in the winter... and be able to just come and go as we please. I'm a bit "nomadic" and am thinking that I'd use this rig the same way we used to use our boat. Or at least I'm hoping that's the case... and that the hassle factor of a rig this size is offset by the "go where I want when I want stay as long as I want".

Last week, for an example, I'd have stayed in Scottsdale a couple more days -- then headed for Del Mar Nats... then gone home up the coast. I'd have had the track car - the hot rod - and the regular car with me... Gwen would have flown home - and I'd have been a free man!

Makes sense.... My buddy has a set up like the one you're getting and he and his wife (doggies included) takes off racing across the country when ever he feels like it.

He used to do it with a P/U and enclosed. Then he realized by the time you plan your route, book hotel rooms, find places to eat etc..... the Totor home and trailer saved time, effort and a lot of hassle, not to mention he can go and see whatever he wants in this great land of ours anytime he wants in between races

GregWeld 04-01-2012 06:06 PM

That's EXACTLY what and why I have wanted one. The hotels along the Interstate suck... and finding a spot to park the dually and my trailer.. unload it ... load it back up at O'dark thirty.

And having the hot rod and the track car etc would just be the best of all worlds... go anywhere - do whatever...

Okay - I've sold myself on this idea again! Thanks!

No more LaQuinta's for you?

RECOVERY ROOM 04-01-2012 06:52 PM

And I thought all the ideas came from Holiday Inn Express's, not La Quinta

Oh gawd... I got a belly laugh out of that!

Tell ya what -- I'll be happy to stay in the rig in the parking lot!

No more "Welcome Mister Weld" on the bulletin board for me!

Are you coming to PIR for the Shelby club on April 30th?
If you decide to do it I'll come and watch and pit crew for you.

Travertine is a soft high maintenance stone. Something in the color tone of travertine would look nice but not a good idea to use for a trailer.

No -- Charley and his buddies (Pete and Chet) and I are doing Thunderhill that weekend. I even see that Jack M signed up to be there - and he's the one that built my car so it will be fun to meet him.

We are experiencing very good performance and customer satisfaction with this Armstrong product: http://www.armstrong.com/flooring/alterna-qr.html

It's a spin-off of Congoleum's DuraCeramic http://congoleum.com/dura.html which we have been installing in our market for 4 years now. We've actually layed it over a couple ceramic tile floors with success, definite improvement in appearance and sensory perception. 50-65% thinner than average tile, better accoustics, will handle minor subfloor defection without cracking, sand latex grout system.

It would enhance the Toterhomes HP to weight ratio while resisting torsional flex under extreme cornering loads. :unibrow:

Thinking about painting the entire rig PPG Barcelona Blue.... with polished stainless steel down the bottom 2' - and a stainless steel beavertail door....

Here's the color.

I can't imagine spraying this much surface area -- with metallic... it ain't gonna happen. Ya think that's why they do all that "tribal" crap on motorhomes?

:wow: :faint:

sik68 04-05-2012 08:29 AM

My parents put an outside entertainment center in the awning side of their RV. "Nothing too crazy" Just a 20" tv, an Xbox, a deck, and a couple 8" speakers... I must say it turns a lot of heads, and is great when you want some outside music in the evenings while cooking dinner, etc. There's nothing more embarrassing than a boom box at a camp site!

Greg, it is also a seller if you're trying to get the grandkids to come along. :unibrow:

You won't see me towing to the track with it anytime soon...my dad won't let me within 10 feet of the captain's chair, haha.

I think that color is designed to discourage toterjackers...

lol

I think Charlie is getting a big kick out of trying to spend your money. LOL

I totally get the slide out gas bbq -- and having been a large boat owner for many years - totally get the additional freezer/refer slide out... but a TV? Not happening. #1 if I was in the spot next to the guy with the stereo on or his TV going -- I'd go inside - grab the 9 and start blasting it...

There's two tv's INSIDE - where nobody else can hear them.... unless they want to. Good enough. There's a stereo IN the trailer.... NO speakers outside.

If Charley wants to watch TV -- he'll have to bring his own - or go home... 'cause I'm not letting him inside. The sani cans are across the parking lot...

GregWeld 04-05-2012 09:40 AM

Note to Charley:

Will trade TV and potty privileges for parking.....

You won't regret it! And you can always just lock it up when you want to see Mr. Lillard walk away with a pouty face. Extra entertainment value.

I was looking at Google Earth.... Can you have someone come and "bell out" the driveway where it meets County Rd 24? I'm not sure I can make that turn without running over that pink flowering ground cover stuff. Maybe have them move the mailbox too.

Okay -- Here's some more preliminary drawings.....

I had to shorten the trailer to 34' from 36' -- in order to keep the larger 24' toter home....

Don't ask me where they got "CADILLAC" in there...
