Just went through your build , you moved along pretty fast. Very nice work!
Especially like the picture in paint booth before the clear. |
stainless works headers
Randy, Great Build! I have the same project going on. Can you tell me more about the header fitment? I have the DSE front subframe, the DSE engine mounts to locate in the stock position. Did you have to modify anything to get those headers to fit? Until I saw your build I didn't find any headers that worked for this combo. Which mounts did you use? Thanks for the help.

Wing window help
need some help.
So i have the passanger side windows to my liking. The problem is the drivers side wing window. I think it sits alittle too low. There is a screw on the inside of the door, bolt on the top right, and bolt on the side if you are looking at it. Now i can take the screw out and pull the window up and tighten the bolts to where i like it but i cant get the screw back in. So i tried the opposite first. Install the screw and then pull the window up. Problem is i cant seem to get enough adjustment this way like i did with the screw out. Does anyone have a picture or a idea what this screw actually does? I can start the screw but it doesnt seem to go in the correct path. Any help would be great |

Parking brake assembly is installed. I wanted to use the most factory parts that i could so i bought a stock parking brake cable kit to use with my c6 brakes. The two rear cables would have been a pain to attach plus they were little long. I managed to open up the hole on the rear brake cable mount to 9/16 and i ordered 1988-1996 corvette rear ebrake cables from oriellys for $20 each using ac delco part number 19143753. These cables are much shorter and fit perfect with my brake kit and quadra link. I will attach pictures but they are not of my car since the car isn't high enough to get pictures. I then used the front cable of my kit and hooked it up to the brake and ran the line thru the subframe. Now here is where i had another problem. The intermediate cable was too short. The correct non big block cable that comes with my car from the factory is 79" long. i need about 3 more inches. Luckily firewheel classics also makes another cable part number pbk-11r for the big block camaro that is 82" long. This will work perfect.. Long store short you want the following :
1988-1995 corvette rear ebrake cables ac delco part number 19143763 67 camaro big block intermediate cable pbk-11r front cable pbk-10a Drill out the kore 3 bracket to 9/16" http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...earebrake3.jpg http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...earebrake2.jpg http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...15633014_n.jpg http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...14268194_n.jpg http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...92039921_n.jpg |

Next up is probably doing some wiring. I have everything i need except exhaust, engines/ trans, vintage air, fuel lines, and front seats. Everything else is waiting to be installed |

Sure, I can help with the wheel.
FYI, I literally got an email today that Corbeau is having a "slight" price increase Jan 1st. I will be back in soon, I will check to see what slight is and give you a heads-up. Matt |
So theres not much left. Is the DSE battery relocation kit worth it or is there another option? $400 for some wires, bulkheads, and tray seems expensive. What else is everyone doing?
All side trim is completely assembled now. Phase 1 Install battery relocation kit Install electrical Install headlights Phase 2 Take to www.rodscarcraft.com Brake lines Fuel lines Raise the tunnel Install headliner Install vintage air Phase 3 Bring home Install seats Seat belts Install engine/ trans Install radiator Install engine electrical Install exhaust |

Using a art morrison ( great clearance and much better than wilwoods kit) wilwood proportioning valve kit Kwik AC bracket with corvette accessories installed Tunnel is raised using chris alston t56 tunnel Finch dual vent installed DSE battery relocation kit and bulk heads installed Holley t56 crossmember ( fit like ****) modified it and now it works great Holley black billet fuel rails are on the way. Will be installed this week Fuel system will be completed and all brake lines this weekend. After that time for wiring and maybe hear it run????? |
You might as well go 3" if the cross member will allow. I have heard about quite a few guys not getting along with that cross member! What did you have to do to it to make it work?
Great to see the car finally close to done!! Matt |

We sell quite a few Speedtech's and BMR's. Issues with those have been minor to none.
Of course in this hobby there area lot of off-the-shelf parts that need to be tweaked to suit your needs, but you have to pretty much reinvent the wheel with that one! Matt |

thoughts?
http://www.eddiemotorsports.com/prod...el-ms140-54bk/ I also purchased this dipstick handle cover. I love it love it love it. Simple for $25 and covers that ugly yellow handle http://www.phastekperformance.com/20...120001-blk.htm |
Looking great. Post up a pic of the seats once you get them wrapped! Are you going to do any color matched stitching on them? You have that opportunity to make them exactly how you want!
Great work  Matt |
Its looking good! Nice seats

Unsure what I'm going to do in the interior. See i like the stock but modified overall look

Interior Ideas
Randy, I get a lot of comments on how people like the modded 'stock' look of my interior, and my seats are similar to yours ... anyway this may give you some ideas, and btw the seats are awesome

Lets talk about fluids
T56 magnum
- tremecs website say Dexron III ATF and it also says not to use full synthetic - Now I've seen some people run redline d4 atf which is a synthetic. - So why would tremec say not to use it yet steilow is using it in his car? - What fluid is everyone else using? Synthetic or not? - How many qt. do i need? Ls3 480hp crate engine - What oil is used to break in a new GM crate engine? - I was thinking about using joe gibbs driven br30 oil to break it in. - I don't think GM used break in oil so why not put 5w30 synthetic in right away? dse ford 9" with tru track - Do you use break in gear oil? - Synthetic or reg? - What weight and why? - |
info for me
- Hook the vss output wire ( brown ) from the bulkhead to the speedometer signal wire - Hook the tach ( white ) from the bulkhead to the gauge tach signal wire - Hook the Oil pressure ( Tan/white ) from the bulkhead to the gauges signal wire - For the water temperature, there is a port located on the right side (passenger side) of the engine, in the cylinder head, past the last exhaust port (closest to the firewall / flywheel). There is a plug threaded in this location, that can be removed. This threaded in plug will either require an 8mm Allen Wrench, or a T52 Torx bit. There will be no noticeable difference in temperature reading when using the shorter sender. The 2277 adapter requires a 3/4" wrench, and the 2259 sender requires a 12mm wrench. Be careful to only tighten the adapter into the head until the crush washer is flattened. Do not over tighten. - for the voltmeter just hook up the ignition wire from the gauge harness to the gauge - Samoco unit should be used for the reverse lockout solenoid. You could run it off of the brake pedal but some people have stated some issues. Link to the samoco unit is http://www.wirebarn.com/T56--TR6060-...ule_p_470.html - The for fuel gauge run ...... |
