Hey Greg I have a couple questions in regard to dealing with Brizio's.
Was there a waiting period before he could get you car in the shop? With such amazing high quality work and that reputation I would think he would have a waiting list. Any talk of a time period for the build? What are the expectations? If you want an awesome looking and styled hot rod, as well as a great driver then there isn't much better a choice than Roy. Plain and simple I am jealous! Nice choice in a car and style. Glenn |
Per Lat-g rules there must be a car pic every fortnight

That is my friends car, same driveway I took delivery of my Camaro back in '89. http://sieg.smugmug.com/Cars/Hot-Rod...IMGP5123-M.jpg http://sieg.smugmug.com/Cars/Hot-Rod...IMGP5126-M.jpg Lincoln Navigator drivetrain, notice the bulge at the front of the louvers to clear the heads. The car gets driven on long-hauls. |

Glenn --- Oh hell yes there's a waiting list!! I gave him a deposit to HOLD A SPACE last JUNE -- right after the L A Roadsters show... at that point he ordered a body -- then we started talking and looking at pics etc -- and when we had a style and look -- he ordered just the frame rails.... It got on the frame table a week ago.... It will be ready for the L A Roadsters show ----- JUNE 2014. Quote:
YEPPERS!! Look at my body shots ---- it's already got 'em!! |
Glenn ---

Of course that time will feel like it's taking forever. And, I expect this thread will be up in the hundreds of pages by then. Good luck with the car! |

His shop is very methodical -- it's a real business and is run like one. He's there to crank out killer cars AND make money doing it. It's like a swiss watch. The shop is chalk a block full of cars -- most repeat customers just building "another Brizio" -- I'm the "newb". But he treats you with the utmost respect - listens to you - guides when needed - and it's just an absolute pleasure to do business with. You know you're paying top dollar and you don't care - 'cause you know you'll get top quality. |

Great post Greg, even the Russian judge gave you 5 'Stielows'. :unibrow: |
I saw a Brizio's client list once and was really impressed with the players on it. Player's not posers.

This Brizio build was MAJOR inspiration..... sans the Ferrari....

I'll argue the motor as it would sound incredible and seriously confuse the enthusiast. Especially since an open air ride is still fresh in my mind. Either way that car is NICE. |

That is sweet  |

Personal choice I guess... but why no Coyote? I get that the LS is easy, and bulletproof, and all your friends have one, and everything built gets one... It's a super rarity to see a Ford engine in a Ford hotrod.
I was watching Barnum Jackson last night and it really seemed like if it wasn't the OE, it was an LS. It was an LS with those fugly plastic covers on it. Jeff- |

Remember - in this build - I'm going for ultimate simplicity - long distance touring - and hassle free. The LS motors have OBD II connectors and there's a chevy dealer and parts every 15 feet. :D Quote:
Thank you! That was my thought as well. Quote:
Glad you like it Glenn! Quote:
We discussed a Roush with 8 stacks... and his personal favorite - a good old SBC with a Crabbyouhater... I already own SBCs with 8 stacks... I'm never doing a crabbyouhater on ANYTHING in my shed... and other than the sentimental "ford in a ford" there was no reason I could think of in a driver / touring car - to add expense etc to go that route. I don't plan on opening the hood. I don't plan to win any trophies... I plan to have lots of bug badges. I know the LS motor kinda... it doesn't leak - they're cheap - they're reliable - they're lightweight... they're powerful - everybody makes "stuff" for them. It is the ugliest motor in the UNIVERSE... |

If you put in a motor that sounded this good you'd never wanna stop driving it and post here.
:D |

Too much weight on the front end. :willy: |
.....and you could cruise around setting off car alarms. :D

The MAJOR issue with the Coyotes is the width.... when you actually are trying to build one of these little cars (32-33-34 Fords) you'd see just how pinched they are in the nose... and we're pinching this one a bit more - and lowing the grill as well to get a bit more "rake"... They just simply don't fit. They're, IIRC, about 9" wider head to head than an LS motor.
The LS3 480hp was billed from the Briz at $6500... and the headers are most likely off the shelf... You just can't hardly find a good reason to do something "else" unless you're just going out of your way to be different. Then that's a different kind of build than what I'm doing. |

While the idea is mostly in jest it would be unique and deliver plenty of usable power. Quote:

J/K GW, I get it. This is to be a comfortable driver with no quirks...and it is your build (as we've all grown so fond of saying around here lately). Jeff- |

For all the bustin' GW does on a certain member on a certain engine buy in a certain thread, our pushback ain't near ... payback. :lateral: |
Quote:
Is the Coyote that much narrower? I haven't seen spec's just assuming which isn't a good habit in this environment. :_paranoid |

I didn't bother checking since Greg turned us (aka FoMoCo) down. |

That's awesome...is this the same motor? "This BRM race car ran a 1.5 litre 16 cylinder super charged engine, which on paper could rev up to 12,000 rpm and push out over 600 bhp." |
BMW inline 6 power in a "slightly" de-tuned version of this one?

While Greg's outside trying to stay in one piece, we can finally show some hard core open air cars. :P
They hit the track at the 2:22 mark. |
^^^Great stuff Cosmo!!!

Man o'man, the rims on that 82 car would look perfect on the 33'.
Can Intro make magnesium wheels? Dan |

I know I know... there's so many great choices but I'm sticking to simple this time around. Quote:
LOL --- YOU'RE SO RIGHT!!! I can dish it out - so I can take it too! Quote:
Yes it really is that much wider -- it's ridiculously wide! Quote:
Yeah... for people that haven't messed with these kinds of cars -- and then I read they're complaining about the lack of real estate in a '69 Camaro!! HA! Wait til they try to find some room in one of these!!! |
Oh -- and to all the Race Car motor posts - and BMW sounds etc....
