Okay -- this is now known as the official Bassackwards build thread.... since we're posting up pics of the finished product first --- and now we're going to post up some pics of it being built. Actually... I kind of like this way. I get to see what the car looks like and then I'm going to look at the pics to see how it got there!! :D

I'm doing a lot of work for a guy with no title....

WOW! That is scary. You can never tell what is underneath a paint job till you stripped her down.

Actually came close to throwing the whole thing away; definitely made an impact on the budget in getting the body right.

XLexusTech 02-21-2013 05:52 PM

Who makes that steering column mount and bearing firewall plate?

tmadden 02-21-2013 06:16 PM

I'm amazed what was underneath. I had no idea anyone could work bondo magic like that!!

The dash and seats have both been redone in leather with a French stitch. The dash is the better of the two repop dashs available. The seats have also been reshaped a bit.

aany001 02-25-2013 06:13 AM

Who's dash did you go with?

I think I got the dash from Rick's Camaro, but not sure. I do remember, the better of the availabl repop dashs was difficult to find. I had to settle for a non air dash and modified it to fit the center air outlet. The modification was pretty simple. Let me know if I can be of further help.

There is supposed to be more going on with the new TV show this Friday morning in Huntington Beach. Don't know if it includes Courtney or exacting where in Huntington Beach. I was just told to have Darkside available at an address to follow at 8 am. Anyone in the area is welcome; good chance to meet everyone and perhaps get your car in the show for one of the episodes. I will post the address as soon as I get it; would very much like to meet any of you that have been following this thread.

Jack asked me to post this video for him....

camcojb 03-01-2013 07:58 PM

I really should do a feature on that car. I know some people are tired of Camaros, but that is an incredible car.

Thank you Greg for all your help. This was a short video from today on the filming of the first episode of a new TV car show titled Private Concourse Challenge. This very short segment was shot at Rich Evans shop in Huntington Beach, CA. Rich is the judge for the first show and has a long history of building some pretty radical custom cars. All and all a pretty fun day.

GregWeld 03-01-2013 08:55 PM

Okay -- just because nobody is reading this thread for info on another '69 Camaro.... we'll post up some more of something that readers ARE interested in!!

Sorry Jack -- but that's about as close as she's going to get to you....

http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...ro/file-75.jpg

Well okay.... this is a car site.... so here's the obligatory car shot. We don't want to get into trouble with Jody.

Killer 69'...well done! Call me old school, but I love the look of a nicely built carb. motor and the Nascar style air cleaner, Thomson builds awesome motors!

Roberts68 03-02-2013 09:24 AM

Jack, forgive me if I missed it but could you or have you described anything about the firewall treatment where the master cylinder and clutch master are mounted? Is that a product available in the aftermarket or a one-off fabrication piece?

The bracket is available from DSE and thru Rick's Camaro for $29.95. The bracket can be either welded or bolted to the firewall.

Jack,

Currently our most popular wheel is the RAD 10. Our most popular finishes are our Autobahn Satin black and Laguna Gray. However our new RAD S6 in a full polished is stunning as well. This would be by vote!

RAD 10 19" Autobahn Black Whole Wheel:

RAD S6 Full Polished with Clear coat over the center section:

RAD 14 Laguna Gray

Of course we have lots of options for spoke design and color.

fleet 03-02-2013 10:07 AM

Jack,

I'm considering a solid color wheel in this shade...
