Did you guys make it to the show today?
|
Yeah, i went yesterday and today. Ran it in the autocross. Best i could muster up was a 59.04. but had a lot of fun. I have a video on my ipad, it wont upload to photobucket and i cant figure out how to load straight from the ipad.....
Also trying to get some photos up from the current set up that Keith did. Car drives fantastic. Too funny also, my very first run on the course yesterday morning, bam, car breaks. Thought it was a fuel pump, turned out to be a bad crimp at the relay box feeding power to the pump. Whew. Did a 61, 60, 59, 60. Was really trying to get a 58 and some change. |
|
what am I looking at? Times were 60 seconds? usually they are 30
|
If you cant see it, try it from another browser. The pros were running 52 to 54. It was the largest course pleasanton has ever had (with the goodguys)
|
can you post the link to you tube? im not seeing it either.

attaboy. Finally.. thanks greg, too!!!

Well, the car finally had a track day.
Went up to Thunderhill with Greg W and Sieg and met up with Dave, G, Ron. What a great time. I signed up for the school as i've never been on a track before, as a passenger or pilot. Dam it! Its about time. Getting this car "track worthy" has been quite a project. 22 years in the making (guys dont feel bad about your "delayed" projects, you know who you are). So, said i wasn't gonna go on the track with out a rollbar, well......you know how that goes "i'm just gonna take it easy and do the school". Well after some making fun of my car in the class "Hey Bill (my instructor) can you go with Mike in the Camaro? How olds the car?, Dam thats things almost as old as me". hahaha, very funny mother fu.......r. I said "well, i've done some thingss to it" he says "like what?", so i tell him the list of a few major things, he smiles, looks at me and says "ha, were gonna have fun".....Holy crap. He has me doin a 100 down the main straight on my warm up lap, has me pass the one car in front of me, bam were gone. Turns out, i was thrown in with the wolves, hes an ex transam champion and pro and pro track instructor. Man i learned what this car can do. Effin fun. Moved my way outa "beginner" real quick. It was a blast having the track to virtually myself during the last three sessions. Only got past twice, once was a "Busch cup car" and a new Shelby mustang. Now, this was the beginner's group.....but hey.... Headin out on friday http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/...71760758DD.jpg Friday night, good to go http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/...70C37B472D.jpg A shot of the boys toys http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/...1CF834382B.jpg I believe turn 3 http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/...39D57CD086.jpg And one of my favorites, http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/...CBC353E3E5.jpg |
Looks like you had a lot of fun I'm hoping to do a track day in my car one of these days.

Epic weekend, one of my favorites of all time. I'm hooked. Been wanting to do this my whole life and finally....dreams do come true.
Only issue i had all weekend was a broken spot weld on my hood latch and the hood kept "unlatching". So a rubber bungee under the hood around the g brace, good to go. Ran it up to 125 ish up the front straight, 6500 rpm in fourth, then hard on the brakes and gentle smooth drift into turn one at 80 ish.....so much fun. Great instructor, he only ran with me two outa the four sessions the school had, and said "i recommend you go up to the next group, you got this". I felt good, confident, but not overly so. Still have great respect for these machines we use, they can hurt you in an instant. So what i did was push the machine till i felt comfortable for the both of us. Well, used all of the track, pushed the machine to its limits (tach and tires)....and she loved it. Very very worth it. The suspension work Keith at Custom Works did was outstanding. I am running 245's up front and 275's in the back and the car was very welll balanced. Front wasn't coming out nor was the rear coming around. I went from curb to curb in each turn as fast as possible and simply fell in Love with this sport. I'm in trouble. Can't wait to go again....... Thanx for checkin, Mike |
way to go mike!!! open the flood gates brother.
What are you gonna build for your wife? |

Mike, thers a couple of events that I still havent chosen from that I would like to attend. Either June 13th at Thunderhill with NCRC or June 14th at Sonoma with NASA. The June 13th event would suit me better so I'm swaying that direction right now. Let me know what you think.
|
I registered for the Fontana USCA event, but the F#$%ers at BFG haven't released the tires I need yet. Its always something. Are you going Mike?

But i checked out the NCRC site and it looks like a good fit for me  |

Rear cage looks great Mike. Can you give us some details?
|
On the cage, so far 4 pnts, 1 3/4 material bought at chris Alston Cw, and Kyle at East Bay Metal Fab with the welding (hes a mech eng who also used to work for CA) and the door bars are waiting for me to finish the door panels so we can get as tight to the door as possible. I finished the left door today....
