no you don't, but that is an expensive road to start down.

HBRod 07-21-2014 08:20 PM

Have a Stielow Bondo sale

Cool project. Was just thinking that if you sold off 1/4lb amounts of genuine Stielow bondo you could raise money for the car. Solve two problems in one. Remove the bondo from your place and fund the car. Been reading through the thread and like your approach. I think my vote for suspension would be Ridetech as it's less invasive and keeps the car close to being on the road while you finish the body and paint. Just a thought. Good luck and realizing your dream.

I like the sounds of the new rear suspension and mini tubs! :welder:

Wow! That's pretty bad. Where did you get them?

Che70velle 07-22-2014 08:49 PM

Rick, that fender must be made by the same manufacturer that made mine. I bought a new front clip basically, and my right side fender looked a lot like that one. I am NOT a body man, and it just about drove me crazy trying to figure out how to MAKE the stupid thing work. There should be a law against taking new Sheetmetal, and cutting it and welding it, and using body filler. Junk isn't cheap, either!

Vince@Meanstreets 07-22-2014 10:30 PM

please tell me those are not AMD's.

Call me crazy but thats why I try to fix my old crap.

Are you doing full quarters Rick?

It's from "Goodmark" who is owned by LKQ now which it us made by Legon!!

Yeah I hear you, the thing is I am a body man, well I've been in the collision industry for 25 plus year any way. Not my day job but still!! I had my own resto place and have done ALOT of restos so you think I would be used to getting this crappppp!!!

Nope Goodmark made Legon. It was only $100 my org was smash real bad in the front, so now I'm just going to cut them both up and use the back of my org fender and the front of this patch panel.

I haven't decided yet on the otr, I only need one on the driver side my passenger is is perfect. Only need the rear lower section, but my window channel is junk as well (which is why the lower rusted out from all the water running down there). It's $320 my cost for a Goodmark (Legon) so I really don't want to spend the money on a full one so I'm not sure yet:headspin:!! Most likely I will replace the full qtr!! :weld:

Sales@Dutchboys 07-23-2014 05:16 AM

Same Issue with those aftermarket fenders I got for my second gen! They look identical to those problem areas. Have you put the hood on? It is not even close to matching the crown on a original hood. I am surprised AMD hasn't done any front fenders for the second gens. The 1st fenders don't fit to bad.

syborg tt 07-23-2014 06:51 AM

Rick I think I have both of my old fenders that you can have to use as patch panels of you want.

Rick D 07-24-2014 07:27 PM

Ok so tonight I though bull this fender can't be that bad?? 😜

So after I changed out the bent rad support for a new one and about 5 mins of messing with the fender it's MUCH better and I will be able to use after all!! :headspin: :relax:

You are soooo right Jeff, I hope my work load stays the same for a few months :knokwood: but I keep hearing that's most likely not the case :badidea: :shakehead:

My name has been mentioned for another position at work and that requires 7 weeks of training :disgusted: and that's out of state!!

Rick D 07-25-2014 06:05 AM

Ok quick question; marker lights or no marker lights??? And yes I know there are laws about it, I'm sure that's NOT what I would get a ticket for when it back on the road :D

DOOM 07-25-2014 06:44 AM

Ahhh aftermarket garbage gotta love it! Funny the Golden liegion quarters fit my car the best! I went through GOODMARK and AMD . The more expensive AMD's fit the worse! Go figure. Rick just take it to Troy he will get those gaps perfect for you!!!:G-Dub:

not fender Rick, quarter panel.....Legion? are they? AMD usually has an X in the part number if its an offshore.

To date, I haven't had any issues with AMD. Depends on what part you buy I suppose.
