A friend of mine always said: "an exhaust should be heard, and not seen"

z28cp 01-30-2015 03:36 PM

I always thought that was children... :sieg:

Wait... that was seen and not heard.

Carry on...

That was the original plan but those still protrude from the body and boy howdy are dem thins spensive when you can find them.
We are going for the super flush look.

BBC71Nova 03-31-2015 07:17 PM

Looking good. Always loved the '67 model.

What was the source for the tank filler bung and cap? Been half looking for that design with no luck. Thanks!

We got a good bit of dash work happening, im not a big fan of dash pads and i wanted the newer look for the car. So why not leather wrap the whole dash!

On too the next issue, I really wanted to keep the GTO seat headrest in the rear. So we had to create some clearance.

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...pss0meofym.jpg

Good by package tray!

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...psaqss8evg.jpg

It created a nice lean to the back seat, and helped them clear the bottom of the rear window.

Those seats look good in there

Dave

Upgraded with a modified 31 spline Eaton posi unit, Yukon gear 24150 3:55 ring n pinion and Moser 154H alloy custom fit 31 spline axles.

Dave Pratt 06-24-2015 02:56 PM

Thanks for the info Vince...again great work.I've heard as well as read that the 8.2 wasn't worth building when compared to it's 8.5 big brother but with all the updated internals I'd guess it's a tough enough unit when done right...I have two 8.2 units in my garage which is why I was asking...thx

Hi Dave,

Yeah they are ok stock, better if upgraded.

I would not use them for drag racing. From what I have killed in the past the weak points are the pinions and axles. Fix those two deals and you are golden.

When ever someone tells me they suck I just say "yeah, but they are lighter".

Have not posted in a while, figured id circle back with updates...
