LateralG is a great forum, full of enthusiasts who share a lot of common interests in all types of cars, and car modifications, as well as trucks. Basically speaking, if there's a vehicle that's ever been built, either by a corporation, or an individual building a kit car in his or her basement, we here as an online community embrace the member on here who puts his or her heart into making it their own ride, by making it better than the original designers had in mind. Age doesn't matter in this hobby, from a car standpoint, or a person standpoint. Car people love cars. Period. Car people also love other car people. Period. There is no such thing as brand loyalty in our hobby. If you truly like cars...or trucks...then who cares if it's a Mopar, or Chevy...a Ford, or an international? Custom cars are...well just plain cool.
There are thousands and thousands of threads on this site that contain information that will help most people out there in cyber land build, or modify what their working on. Threads ranging from magazine shoots, to tips and tricks. Threads that contain information on race specific topics, to threads that cover wheel options. Threads that tell you how to set up your brake system to threads that give feedback on specific venders or members...good or bad. I'm telling you, this site has it all. And then there's this thread started by a true car guy. A thread that gives information to help others, but not in an automotive demeanor. As I mentioned above, car guys love other car guys. And car guys help out other car guys, even when it's not practical or makes sense. The guy behind this thread cares enough to stick around and help a total stranger, late into the evening, with a system on a car that he admittedly doesn't really prefer, up on a lift on a hot sweaty day, when nobody else at this moment wanted to help. A true car guy that is in one of life's greatest battles, yet keeps moving forward, against the wind, with great dignity. Why? Because it matters. Because life matters. Because family matters. Because people are watching...and taking notes. I hope that in 10...20 years when someone is scanning the Internet, looking for information about a certain issue they are facing, and come across this forum, and find this thread...I hope they see a true car guy. I hope they happen to notice the almost 20,000 posts that have been placed across this forum in effort to support, and help someone new looking for information. I hope that they see value in a mans effort to reach out to others with help that cost them nothing. I hope that they see the value in starting a thread like this one, filled with information that won't just help us all out in this weekends race, but ultimately in the greatest race of all...the race of life. Of all of the truly terrific threads on LatG, this thread is by far the greatest of all. Thank you Greg Weld. You my friend are a true car guy! :flag2: |

Thanks Scott! I just don't even know how to respond so I won't - I'll just say thank you and leave it at that.

I've neglected this thread - mostly because there's little to add.....
So far my cancer is not affecting me. Everyone asks "how's the cancer" and then they add "gee... you look really good!" which - of course - only serves to remind me multiple times per day that - yep - I have terminal cancer. So here's my point. In May I was given 6 months to live..... I immediately started the THC/CBD oil regimen.... it's now 5 months later (I'm supposed to be mostly dead by now!) and I'm driving myself out to California for a track day weekend - then driving to Seattle for a couple days with fellow Lat G'r's Matt A and Rob Dickey to take an advanced DirtFish driving school.... I just finished doing a week long road tour.... doesn't seem like the cancer is bothering me much. Do I still have it? I don't know - all I know is that it's not affecting me "right now". That's really all I need to know. I'm taking .01ml of each of the THC and CBD oil (73% - so ultra strong % stuff!) every night before bed.... during the night I know I'm like "lit up" because this stuff is STRONG! But by the time I wake up in the morning - it's mostly out of my system and I plan my day. This last "batch" is from a source in California --- they did not sell it to me nor did they supply it to me.... CannaKids. It's 73% THC in the THC syringes and it's also 73% CBD in those syringes -- so it's super easy to dose on a 1:1 basis!! Some other supplies I've had are different strengths so you had to allow for that when dosing. I really like the super simple 1:1 on a "volume" basis... since they're the same strength. Their THC looks like gold honey - which is how all the CBD I've gotten looks. The THC from "others" looks like black tar. This seems to be super pure - it also costs almost double.... about $5400 for 30 syringes of each.... which these days is more than 6 months supply (.01ml per day - there's 10 days in each syringe). |
Thanks for the update Greg, I was curious what you were doing for a "maintenance" program now.
I have shared your story a lot the last couple of months and it is amazing how many acknowledge that they have heard similar stories. I believe this movement is growing if only on a grassroots level right now. Hopefully soon it will get even more traction. |
I too have shared your story - the reactions & opinions I get are polar opposites.
The Biggest Problem I have is Big Pharma and their push back against Medical Marijuana. If they put the Lobby Money into research I think they would find a cure. Did you see the 60 Minutes section on IBM's Watson computer and what is doing for Medical Research? |
Thanks for starting this thread, it's got me interested in researching for a family member that was in a car accident years ago but still has post-concussion issues (migraines and vertigo) and nerve damage. So far prescription meds aren't cutting it, and maybe an alternative medicine could help. Plus I'm in the medicinal pot mecca of Oakland, so should be able to find someone that has experience in treating people with similar issues.

Greg I'm glad your out enjoying yourself especially in our Car hobby. Show those guys how it's done!

No news is good news.
While we were out on tour, Greg was sharing his story with some of us and Steven (the Goodguys photographer and "greatguy" himself) starts telling us the story of a friend of his families down in southern california whose daughter has had similar results (young girl with cancer). Pretty sure its the same girl than Jerry (intocarss) posted on this thread on page 1 or 2. Small world. Greg, keep it sunny side up this weekend or "slideways" whichever you'd like...cheers bud, mike |

I've had countless people come up to me and share stories of how someone they know that had terminal cancer - and they're still kicking years later - due to? Rick Simpson Oil and CBD's..... Quote:
I have witnessed every kind of facial expression going! People are so funny. First they're mortified that I have what I have - then when they ask why I'm doing so well and I tell them -- many go into complete disbelief. I'm okay with that now. I understand how people have grown up with Marijuana being illegal - and for nothing but getting high.... I get it. Quote:
I have no idea what all this stuff can do - or how it does it..... but yes - do some research.... and stay off the sites that start with "high times" etc. It takes some searching and reading - and dismissing - and starting over.... to find the truly helpful MEDICAL websites. Quote:
I'd show 'em Wayne - but they can't keep up. Quote:
I think you're right Mike! Total turnaround story! I still wake up every day and "question" why I'm not dead or dying yet... and I think.... well? Only treatment I've done is what I've done. Must be something working. |
I think its the immediate image people get that throws them off. They hear maryjuwanna and all they can imagine is Cheech and Chong stoned out of their gourds.
I bet a big percent of the true medical users aren't smoking it. (not trying to slam anyone by saying "true medical" but you weed heads know who you are....) |
Quote:
I totally agree with this!!! By the way --- I do smoke during the day -- usually wait as long as I can into the later afternoon... because that puts an immediate stop to the annoying stomach rolling... and frankly - because it helps me take my mind off even having cancer. So WTF. I lived for the last 32 years sober as a judge.... I'm over it. It's helping me and that's all I need to know. Even smoking - is used as a med not just to get stoned. Frankly - after you have taken the potency and amount that I did for the cancer - the smoking really isn't that big of a deal. Although I won't drive on it. |
You know whats funny. When I was diagnosed with cancer for the 2nd time I was pretty pissed. I've never smoked, did any drugs, eat darn near perfect and only drank for one year of my life. I felt it was unfair that I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. Hell, I haven't had a soda since 1981 this is total bull crap.
So one day I was walking out of subway and I saw a young girl smoking and the first thing that came to my mind is that it was sad and that she shouldn't smoke. But then I said well f-it doing everything right didn't change anything for me. (Chances are my diet actually saved me because I was pretty lucky to be alive with what I had) So then I said just said to myself just smoke that cigarette because you never know what your path is in life. What I can say is I am happy that I live the lifestyle that I did and still do as it is what has helped me get through the crap that I have been through with far less repercussions then if I didn't. I can tell you that "Diet" not dieting will increase the quality of your life 10 fold and if they told me today that I would have a better chance doing the treatments that Greg is doing I would be all over it. I can tell you first hand THC/CBD Oil has improved the quality of life for a family that is part of the charity I work for. The sad part is that he will soon pass and we can take what we have learned from his experience and Greg and share it with other family's. I can't tell you how much this thread has help as not many people are as strong as Greg and he's done an incredible job sharing what he did and what he's learned and I can't thank him enough for passing on his knowledge to all that are willing to take the time and read. I strongly suggest everyone save a copy of this thread on there hard drive because you never know when you might need this information. Someone told me this quote and it means a lot to me know. Fight like your the 3rd Monkey getting on the Ark and it just started raining. Fight Ugly it's your life !!! |

TRUE ENOUGH MARTY!!!! Fight ugly it's your life! |
I'm surprised daily by how well I feel. Had someone tell me today that I've never LOOKED better! WTF!
I know one thing for certain! I'm the busiest dead guy I know! I was supposed to be dead the middle of November.... in other words -- I shouldn't be making SEMA! But WTF - not only am I doing SEMA -- I think I might be there next year too! LOL Why am I writing this? Because it's fun to be RIGHT.... and so far the THC/CBD oils have been RIGHT. I have no other reason to be alive. Good enough for me. That is all. See many of you soon! And I can't wait! |
That's a beautiful thing keep it going.
|
Looking forward to seeing you next week Greggy. I hadn't planned to go this year but plans have a way of changing. With our new association with NSRA, I have sponsorships to find and so, at the last minute I am SEMA bound another year. I was afraid all the Lat g party tickets were sold but scored one last night. See you there.

Greg I'm Glad the THC/CBD oil are making you feel so good, but that positive attitude you have is got to be helping kick the big C's ass ! I'm glad to have met you online and hopefully in person some time, just remeber to have a great time and remember us mere mortals live vicarious through you guy going to the Lat-g party so you guys post some pictures when you get back!

Thanks Wayne! I don't know any attitude other than "up". I'm not a funny guy - I'm not a back slapper - I'm not really much fun to be around. I'm really pretty f'n' boring if you ask me.... I only ever have one view.... if something you bought doesn't fit - you can bitch and whine and moan about it - or you can get busy hot rodding it. Right now I'm hot rodding - just like I always have! We ALL live vicariously thru EACH OTHER! I live as much thru the guys on here as anyone else. Wish you could be at the get together. It's fun - but sadly there's so many people there and every year I say I'm going to talk to EVERYONE that's there - and it just never happens. I want to meet each and every guy/gal on here so if you're at SEMA and at the party - come say hi! Damn it! |
Greg,
I have read this entire post and man... Im not even sure what to say. First off I am up for any treatments that work, especially when standard normal treatments fail so regularly. I dont get on latg as often as Id like given my side work going on right now and I am sad to admit that I just saw this post last week. I am stoked that you are fighting a good fight and you are an inspiration for sure! I sure hope to see you at SEMA even though I can't make the latg party :/ I would at least like to shake your hand and say hi |

Mr. Weld,
I use Mr. because I have much respect for you, even though we have never met, and only discussed things here on the forum, and through PMs. I have wondered many times how you are doing, and somehow I ran across this thread and read the entire thing. You sir are an inspiration for many of us here and I am truly glad you are doing well, as I enjoy your posts and how you get along with everyone. If there is anyone on this forum that seems to be the foundation here, I think it is you. Thanks for sharing this information, as I know at some point, as others have said, a google search will point them to this thread and may learn something other than building a car. Keep up this fight, I hope to one day cross paths so that I can shake your hand. Although, in reading, I see you were at Coker Tire in September. How I wish I knew you were here in my home town. Unless Coker has some sort of other building on the other side of the country. I would have liked to meet you in person, as everything I read here makes you out to be a unique person. Keep posting about this because it is needed. Enjoy SEMA. |
For those out there worrying about Greg. He looks fine . He looks better than he did before he got on this treatment. He has gotten himself another shop, ordered another car trailer and is wanting the Mustang race car back. I think he has figured out he is gonna stay a bother us indefinitely.:hapdance: :hapdance:
