Caps.
|
Caps for sure, wish I had kept the ones that came on mine in '79
|
|
A lot of changes this go around. Im noticing the radiator mounting is not the bushing type you’ve been doing?

Yes that is a DeWitt radiator with a Spal fan. A direct bolt up radiator. It should be more than enough cooling for a stockish LS7. The DeWitt rad is a nice part and has a more OE feel for the look I wanted in the engine bay. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Caps….dammit! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
So, I am torn as I really like the Hub Caps and everyone seems to be doing them and technically you are the Trend Setter and no Hub Caps looks really cool.

Ok this has been fun. Going with caps. Blue or Black wheels. Blue wheel photos for reference https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...37219e346e.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...19f73f5c2d.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Blue wheels are the classic/original look. Can't go wrong either way. But, I'd opt for black wheels if it were my car.

Blue painted wheels were for the more 'optioned' cars. Black was for the bare bones models.
Since this one is a 'less is more' exercise, Satin Black would be my go-to. |

Since the majority went black I’d go the opposite.
Body color, maybe Dutch Boys can do some patina on them? |
Black with caps!

Blue looks good with 15" wheels, but when you get more wheel and less side wall i would stick with black to hide the skinny side wall. Roadster shop was able to pull it off with this build although the front side wall looks a little skinny. I believe they are using at least a 19" in the rear. I've always liked an 18' front 19" rear stagger look for the 69

I would be worried about matching the blue closely enough that it wouldn't be obvious. But I do like the blue idea. Tough call - look forward to seeing which path you choose.

Yeah, I was thinking the same - body color with some patina. Black just isn't going to look factory IMHO, don't think that was ever done was it? Mine came with lemans blue wheels from the factory, same color as the body.

I wonder how it would look with the lip black and the wheel center blue? |

I’m with skip no caps - fits the drag racing aesthetic no decoration (caps) necessary - roaster shop pulled it off beautifully with this build a few years back
|
I'd try for matching the blue first as to many people are going with black wheels now. You can fall back to black if it doesn't work out with the blue. You could also try, black lips as suggested in the interim to see how that would play out.
And, I'd go with center caps so long as they'll stay on at speed. |

I dig the blue wheels with the caps. It’s a modern take on the stock look.

I was surprised to see just caps on this TA…glad Pontiac didn’t go with body colored wheels though.

To make up for the shorter dry sump take Matt made a goiter tank to get the system up to a 10 guart capacity

DBW TB Adapter?
1 Attachment(s)
Mark,
What adapter was used for the intake that allows this packaging? I was looking into an aftermarket style body but I'm intrigued about possibly using my existing 6.0 DBW unit. Or if you know of any other details on this I can research/investigate that you could share, it would be appreciated. |

Hobbs Camaro (Old Drag Car)
Quote:
I don’t have any data other than “looking X guessing”. I would bet the stock LS7 Camaro Z/28 Tri Y headers will make more power. The GM Powertrain team did a lot of work on those Z/28 Manifolds to get over 505 HP stock. I have made over 800 HP with the Holley exhaust manifolds on a blower motors. Both are good. The Holley’s fit the “look” of the engine bay better. Mark Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
