Absolutely. I am hoping to move out of my parents' basement by 2014 when this POS will be running.

You can brush it after the fact also giving it a brushed look and not hurt the corrosion factor.

That was my thought. This ain't pro blinging over here obviously. :D

It's a cool finish. I just think the tone of the color is lighter than I want. I am doing with a dark grey/graphite powdercoat.

Thanks Matt. You doing it on your stuff?

yes all my rear links will be nickle'd along with my control arms.

its nice because if the material cracks so does the nickle unlike paint and powdercoat. plus it doesnt add any weight, well maybe a couple grams the plating is roughly .002" thick.

:)

Things look like they are going well Dave.

preston 11-09-2012 08:32 AM

When I looked into nickel plating it was god awful expensive. In fact, I couldn't even really get the guy to give me a price. I think it was Advanced Plating somehwere in the midwest ? AT first the guy said he didn't even do nickel plating and then I mentioned several high end cars that said they had work there and he admitted they will do it for but spent the rest of the call talking me out of it. That was before I even told him what and how much I wanted nickel plated, so he didn't know I was a low roller LOL.

How/where/price are you getting things nickel plated ? Don't mean to hijack Flash just curious.

67zo6Camaro 11-09-2012 09:49 AM

Im getting ichy just looking at those. lol. Can't wait to see these long arms of the law on the 68.

I do my Nickle at work.

we charge around 100 bucks min order, $200 would probly do a set of upper. lower control arms. if you were a walk in.
