The insurance deal should be sorted out soon. I think there has been total of four independent adjusters who have been assigned to work on the car. I know I posted it somewhere, but there was a total idiot (2nd adjuster) who never showed up, then there was a third guy who seemed ok, and finally a fourth guy that told Dick he would get his initial estimate in the 40-45k range so that we could get started and only have to invoice a few materials. I'm hoping we get a check at the end of next week, due to Labor Day and everything, things have been a bit slow. Still I'm a little upset that it will be about a month before we get a check, especially because we're shooting for a deadline. I guess I can't complain too much as long as I get paid though. I'll update the insurance thread when we hear back from Hagerty next week.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention something, I just bought a set of these pedals: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TIL-72-603/?rtype=10

they'll require a little bit of fabrication work, but we're going to be putting down bars (is that the right term?) on this time so we're modifying the firewall anyway. I'm a little surprised I've only seen Tilton's pedal assemblies on a few cars, because this setup is uber trick. Everything is adjustable from the pedal ratio to the to the position of the throttle cable linkage and position of the pedals. I got it for two main reasons, the first being that I hated the Lokar gas pedal assembly, which pivots between the pedal and arm, and IMO just sucks. It's hard to heel-toe easily with it because when I roll my foot over it just moves the top of the pedal via the spring at doesn't blip the throttle. The Lokar pedal was also miles closer to the firewall than the brake pedal adding to the difficulties. The second reason I got it is because it provides different front and rear master cylinders, so I can run a 7/8 front and 15/16 or 1" rear m/c to hopefully alleviate some of the knock back feel.

Sort of...I mean it is a very different feel. If you've ever driven a Porsche, you do get acclimated quick. I actually prefer it.

I also agree w Matt's assessment of the throttle position relative to the brakes.

So I was going to keep a couple things a bit of a secret, but when Dick sent me this picture I just wanted to share it. Keep in mind it isn't done, and several parts of the design will be tweaked before it goes to paint, but even now I don't think it looks half bad.

Yeah I would think those would feel weird... they look sweet though.

What Porsche did you have? My 996 surely didn't feel or look like these. Felt very typical.
