And here I thought maybe this POS was on the road but no.... Baby got back was a damn good song when I was 14. I remember being the trap boy at the Isaac Walton league chewing Levi Garret and listening to Sir Mix A lot. $4.00 an hour cash.

Google the unrated version of 'Put em on the glass' (nsfw)

And for the record, my GF says I do have back. Unfortunately that's the first and last time I ever heard it. :D

That was what, 1917? Now how did you know that Greg?? :D

So I do have an update. Last few weeks have been absolutely swamped. Tonight was the first dinner at home in two weeks. Next week is no better, but I did take the opportunity to run down to BoS this afternoon and drop off some stuff. Friday afternoon shop BBQ, just what I needed

Also Matt was out testing today at BW. I'll let him tell you all about it, but what little I heard he's getting closer to being dialed in for Optima. Loved that text!

I was happy to see the dash painted and wired. Looks like guage placement will clear the steering wheel.

http://i885.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps0ff970f0.jpg

The rollbar is painted and we spent some time debugging some computer/harness issues. Learned alot today thanks to Dean @ BoS and John @ PSi. For the record, those two guys are money.

I also left the glass for install and the plan is to get the cockpit wrapped so we can head off to interior soon.

That's about it. Always a good day when you get to spend time with car guys you like amd move the project forward a step or two...

Great news Ron,

I am trying to fit up the dash pad what a pain in the A$$ with the DSE dash, it's terrible fit, brand new and old pad fit like $hit. Good luck with yours.

On my Brother in laws '69 with the DSE dash -- I ended up having the upholstery shop make a whole new one and had him cover it etc -- $1200 and it matches the rest of the beautiful job he did (rather than that cheap ass plastic thing) and fits like a glove.

Thx Greg. These dash pads suck almost as bad as Endura bumpers!

Hey Vince! So this may only be a PSI harness configuration and like I said, John is always there for support. My issues are switched fan runs on start up, OBDII is not able to be read w a code reader or HP Tuners, check engine light does not come on momentarily upon start up, and the Tach is not reading a signal from the computer.

Sounds like a system meltdown right?

It's a ground and a resister issue and that's about it.

The car electrical system is currently is ground to the frame and the motor. To test it we ran a ground from the E38 computer to the battery. Also checked the pin outs:

OBDII Port:

POSITION 4 TO GROUND
POSITION 5 TO GROUND
POSITION 6 TO BLACK ECM CONNECTOR POSITION 28
POSITION 14 TO BLACK ECM CONNECTOR POSITION 27
POSITION 16 IS SWITCHED 12-VOLTS

Here's the Autometer Tach/resistor issue.

So...

Why wouldn't it be? :_paranoid It isn't like I'm doing anything secretive to my car. I just changed springs and sway bar settings and fiddled with shocks and now I need to change my brakes out. Some of this might be able to be applied to Ron's Quadralink.

It was really great to catch up with you today Ron and hear about the continued progress on your ride. I hope your first test drive here shortly goes great. Your car is going to be rediculous on and off the track. Can't wait to hear it and see it in person soon, and you behind the wheel. You're a really gracious guy and it'll be great when folks have the chance to pay back all the compliments you've paid to them and their rides over the past few years.
