It's a Trek -- I wanted the Fuel EX8 29 but I didn't like the 29's -- so went with a 26 but I'll be danged if I can remember the exact model. It's "high end" - but not crazy high end. Lucky for me SV is a HUGE bike town - but at the end of the season they blow stuff out and change over to ski stuff. It's got 3 big gears up front and 9 in back I think - and has hydraulic brakes - and the adjustable suspension for soft - medium and locked up… The rear suspension is cantilevered rocker set up.

I LOVE IT… But I just ride it around -- I'm not jumping logs or planning any canyon jumping on it. I do CHOOSE to go down stairs though rather than avoid them!! LOL

That's awesome Greg I miss Mtn Biking, years ago I built a couple of my own from the frame up.

Here's my last one... the frame was so so but the components were top notch in their day

HAHAHAHAHAHA --- We're going to have to set up a Mountain bike track day!!

Nice looking bike Jerry!

I haven't had a bike for years… Gwen rides her road bike (a Trek Madone 5.9) 50 miles per ride and she'd ride 6 days a week if the weather would cooperate… She's actually has TWO of them - identical - one here in Bellevue and one in Sun Valley… and then when I got my mountain bike - she bought one too - so we've been doing rides together - road and trails. We use our bikes way more than our cars when we're over in SV.

Greg, How long have you had a place in Sun Valley?

Since last September. We bought a condo by accident… went over there in January and stayed until the end of March - by that time we'd bought a lot and are building a house and moving there as our primary residence.

I've skied over there for 25+ years - and always loved it - but those were always just "winter" ski trips… then we went over a couple times the last couple of summers and loved the summer just as much as the winters.

Just curious. About 12 years ago, I worked personal security for some mega rich computer guy named David Hayden. He was the founder of a company called Critical Path. About that same time, he and his then wife were building some maga mansion in Sun Valley called "The Arc". About half way through the project his company had some major problems and the project was abandoned when it was about half way finished. It was being built into the mountain side and some type of insane curved roof. I always wondered what happened to that place.

It's a town of "insane" money. There's one Alaska Air flight per day from Seattle -- but the airport is just a parking lot full of private jets. Some of the houses there are OMG amazing… You'd mistake them as ski lodges or hotels… hahahaha

I'll ask someone that will know.

You know they have the big Allen & Company tech conference over there every year… and the whole town is crawling with private security for all the who's who in tech that come over.

Man I just read some of the story about David Hayden but I was unable to find anything on the house.

I also think we need to set up a MTB ride after Good-Guys events and Sema next year. I know I will have my bike with me.

ps Greg that is a great bike you have there.

And the bench is a nice touch. :relax:

Does that Weld Racing shirt glow at nite? That would be a nice safety feature. Or just have it :flashie:on and off.

As it turns out - the arc - is off Fairway road which I walk three or four times a week since it starts (it's a short road) at our driveway. Fairway was the gold coast for awhile… and there are some real beauties there. My source (real estate agent/friend - whose husband is our architect - who's BFF's with our builder….) says she hasn't been in it.

It's a VERY SMALL town… some 3,000 permanent inhabitants… all of whom are either related - or friends of someone. It's amazing that way (to us coming from a big town).
