With or without the bike for transportation backup?

So both of my girls were home for a little bit so it was more about being with them than the car.

I feel like I didn't vent the drivers side when I burped the coolant system so I am adding a note.

Found them and all the little stuff (( 10-13-23 ))

So I found the battery terminal cover and I even bought extra as I know Ron wants a set.

Step One - Trim them a little bit at a time

Seatbelt Planet Seat Belts & TMI Seats (( 10-14-23 )) Post One

I am finally installing the Seatbelt Planet seat belts up front and I forgot how nice they look.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...739c1ad-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...684877d-me.jpg

Good News is they match the door pull perfectly

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...ae64455-me.jpg

Moving over to the Drivers Side

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...e0f6813-me.jpg

Not sure if I am going to add two more Zipties

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...c804d49-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...5a15fe7-me.jpg

I added a washer & nut to the center hump seat belt bolts.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...3296ca6-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...c402358-me.jpg

I pulled the passenger seat out as I don't like the how the seat back plates look with the seat bracket.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...fd16ceb-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...19f2af6-me.jpg

Plan B or is it C

I moved the set back brackets to the top of seat slider.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...315a234-me.jpg

With the front seat going back in I decided I should get some temporary seat covers. So off to Autozone I go for Touch Up Paint and Seat Covers !!!!

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...8b3a5cf-me.jpg

Good News the seat covers fit great and they are even airbag safe.

Fender Braces and Anvil Closeout Panels (( 10-14-23 ))

I hope this will be the last time I have to remove and install the Anvil Close Outs.

Prepping for the Fender Braces and I really wish I new where these came from as I love them and can't remember.

Test Fitting

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...b9b2b61-me.jpg

I need to remove the Anvil pieces for some slight trimmingg.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...1f4d94a-me.jpg

Man I hope this is enough.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...f9609e7-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...1c43dfb-me.jpg

I will be using the hood stops to hold down the outside of the Anvil Close out and to prevent damage to the close out
panel I installed a rubber washer.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...f685961-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...e9d3837-me.jpg

Once everything is final I will tighten these down.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...3102b54-me.jpg

I seem to like taking engine bay shots and then looking back at them. I have decided that I will be painting the radiator
and the throttle body black over the winter.

What is happening here? Are those bolts tight and the belts can't swivel?

https://www.lateral-g.net/forums/cac...c804d49-me.jpg

Couple of observations, I can't see your car from here but based on this picture.....

I think the harness bar is backwards. What you have as the front should be the rear. That would allow the belts to point up from the bracket and wrap over the top of the bar to the seat. As it is now, if you ever needed those shoulder harnesses, the seat belt loops themselves are just going to fold up.

If mounted the way I described they would be loaded in tension.

syborg tt 10-18-2023 07:52 PM

Hi Donny ''What is your thoughts"

Hi Donny,

All of the bolts are tight and the brackets can't swivel. However, since the brackets are so close together I need to put a
washer behind one of them so the brackets can be flat. In the rare occasion that I have a passenger in the back seat I was
worried about them bumping the bracket. On a side note you will have to be one hell of a contortionist to get back there.

Here is a side shot of what it looks like and I am open to your advice as I this is all new to me.

Thanks for the side pic. That is all wrong and it will never be perfect but it can be better.

Turn the harness bar around so the welded tabs are on the back side but still pointed down. Then bolt the harnesses on the back side. I would consider bolting them on with the angle going forward even, assuming it will fit that way.

Side bar. Nobody you like should be sitting in that back seat with that harness bar there.

CONGRATS MARTY!!!!

Next time you need to fill up the cooling system on an LS, keep the top hose loose and fill from it, it will ensure you get the entire block full with hardly any air left in the system. It also bypasses the thermostat so filling is much quicker. Basically the same idea as pulling the thermostat housing from a SBC/BBC and filling the cooling system from the thermostat hole in the intake. Makes a huge difference in the end.

Get some smiles per mile son, you deserve it!!:trophy-1302:

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...ef75a98-me.jpg

Cut the hole for the window cranks and yes I am staying old school.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...3b61ed7-me.jpg

Well, it was a good run and it looks like the Harbor Freight tool was only able to do a few dozen nutzerts.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...dc7c1ea-me.jpg

I have one bolt left, maybe I will make a keychain with it.

Fixed !!

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...f1ebfff-me.jpg

I am not the person that made that brutally awesome hole in the door and I have no intention of removing it as it part of the cars history.

Door Panel is finally on (( 12-02-23 ))

Here we go and I hope this is the last time I have to take it on and off.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...0896c17-me.jpg

These Classic Industries Door Panels are so nice.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...517d186-me.jpg

Since the trim isn't on the Jam I tapped it off to protect the door panel.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...5034af1-me.jpg

Since the car is on the right right side of the lift ramps I decided to hang a kneeling pad on the wall to protect the door.
