Back at it (( 10-04-23 )) Dr EFi tweaking the tune
So both of my girls were home for a little bit so it was more about being with them than the car.
I feel like I didn't vent the drivers side when I burped the coolant system so I am adding a note. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...4620f1d-me.jpg This sucked but the good news is it fired right up. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...2ead11a-me.jpg Back to the car. Car was doing some weird stuff after the battery went dead. So I asked Andrew to log back in and it's all better now. Once again. Andrew thank you very much |

Seatbelt Planet Seat Belts & TMI Seats (( 10-14-23 )) Post One

Fender Braces and Anvil Closeout Panels (( 10-14-23 ))
I hope this will be the last time I have to remove and install the Anvil Close Outs.

What is happening here? Are those bolts tight and the belts can't swivel?
https://www.lateral-g.net/forums/cac...c804d49-me.jpg Couple of observations, I can't see your car from here but based on this picture..... I think the harness bar is backwards. What you have as the front should be the rear. That would allow the belts to point up from the bracket and wrap over the top of the bar to the seat. As it is now, if you ever needed those shoulder harnesses, the seat belt loops themselves are just going to fold up. If mounted the way I described they would be loaded in tension. |
Hi Donny ''What is your thoughts"
Hi Donny,
All of the bolts are tight and the brackets can't swivel. However, since the brackets are so close together I need to put a washer behind one of them so the brackets can be flat. In the rare occasion that I have a passenger in the back seat I was worried about them bumping the bracket. On a side note you will have to be one hell of a contortionist to get back there. Here is a side shot of what it looks like and I am open to your advice as I this is all new to me. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...de0d5c1-me.jpg Quote:

Turn the harness bar around so the welded tabs are on the back side but still pointed down. Then bolt the harnesses on the back side. I would consider bolting them on with the angle going forward even, assuming it will fit that way. Side bar. Nobody you like should be sitting in that back seat with that harness bar there. |
Definitely and exciting day, Marty! I'm happy for you! It looks great rolling down the driveway on it's own power!

CONGRATS MARTY!!!!
Next time you need to fill up the cooling system on an LS, keep the top hose loose and fill from it, it will ensure you get the entire block full with hardly any air left in the system. It also bypasses the thermostat so filling is much quicker. Basically the same idea as pulling the thermostat housing from a SBC/BBC and filling the cooling system from the thermostat hole in the intake. Makes a huge difference in the end. Get some smiles per mile son, you deserve it!!:trophy-1302: |
Morning Donny,
I will flip it around this weekend and thank you for catching this I really appreciate it. ps I looked back at old pictures and it was on the way you explained. Quote:
Thank you Matt I can't tell you how happy I was to get it out of the garage. Quote:

Post Sema Fatigue (( 11-04-23 ))
Rule #1 Don't go to Sema when you are building a car that may or may not go back to Sema. Why, Because you are going to see some really cool stuff.
Like this. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...c88e714-me.jpg and this, Yes I am going to get a hold of the guys at TechFlex and order some of the red/back wire sleeve. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...6d7afab-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...449780e-me.jpg |

Time to install the Classic Industries Door Panel.
http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...91e835a-me.jpg I ran the factory screws in from the backside so they would make a mark on the door panel so I can punch a hole. Classic Industries Door Panel (( 11-26-23 ) Part 2
Next up ... Install the razor sharp retaining clips.
http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...efcc17c-me.jpg Time to remove the door panel so I can install the remainder of the clips. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...efcc17c-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...2189506-me.jpg Best tool ever for removing the door panel. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...43bfbdf-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...0203eb3-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...03ec665-me.jpg So, I have remote mirror but I am afraid to cut the hole in the door panel. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...0e55b9f-me.jpg More notes (( yes I have memory issues )) http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...3aee3b3-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...2088bea-me.jpg I plan to come back and glue the leather to the back side of the door panel. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...ef75a98-me.jpg Cut the hole for the window cranks and yes I am staying old school. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...bae4d17-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...139fbfe-me.jpg A little paint and primer in one is needed. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...392b839-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...853ca86-me.jpg I placed the water shield on the template and made the necessary cuts. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...ee78109-me.jpg yep, I have misplaced one of these washers. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...84025b9-me.jpg More notes http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...5363cc3-me.jpg |

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...0896c17-me.jpg These Classic Industries Door Panels are so nice. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...517d186-me.jpg Since the trim isn't on the Jam I tapped it off to protect the door panel. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...5034af1-me.jpg Since the car is on the right right side of the lift ramps I decided to hang a kneeling pad on the wall to protect the door. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...71b5913-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...068e6b6-me.jpg |
