The car looks killer! However, one thing is standing out like a sore thumb to me no offense. That quarter insert should be painted with the body. It just looks like something that was bolted on instead of grafted into the body. Just my 5 cents worth of opinion:)

We think alike....., i understand that the cf is expensive, that you'd like it to show for people to notice and all, but, reffering to Mako's comment, i would even say the same about the bumper and trunk lid...they look like its a car/ project that's been upgraded over the week end that the parts have not been yet painted (no offence meant). As an example of what can be done nicely, take Larry Callahan's car, he had the paint ''Climb'' onto the parts to some extent so they show leaving some CF to show, but its at least integrated into the scheme, not just put there as a mere bolt on.

You could do a stripe (large single) using the lower valance's opening for width and carry it over the whole car cutting it early at the base of the windshield like the original Z striping kinda and you would have to find something special to do at the base of the back glass since the panel there is not CF made (is it available?) and therefore the stripe could not go end on it but a nice trim with aluminum rivets (I'm thinking of the black bad ass 67 fastback mustang tthat was built awhile ago....with the big scooped with grilles kinda stuff) for a third light or something to fill the space permitting the stripe to end on the lid while the rest of the space beeing filled.

Lol! Just an idea....Hey, its just my 2 pennies worth, trying to help thats all... ;)

Any idea on the red you want to use? Its going to be killer when done.

No offense taken on the feedback. I liked the look of the green 69 Finch built and that was the look I was going for. I'm still considering a large single stripe and I'm looking into having a CF panel made for between the rear window and deck lid. Right now I'm planning on using the red jewel metallic color from the new Camaro.

First off Ron, love the render/design and build it as it makes you happy! You'll have a killer car no matter what direction you go. Second, as far as the single stripe and rear window to decklid area I had the same delima. I simply stopped short of that panel and called it a day. I'll see if I can find a pic. There really not much you can do there but I do like your thinking of replacing w a true carbon piece. Really, it's done all the time - Amir did it, and at SEMA this year I saw a 5th Gen w embedded carbon GS stripes on flat black fenders. Looked really cool, but speaking with the owner it's also a lot of work. (do it  :D )

Ron don't change a thing!!! Its awsome!!! It looks like you parts fit a hell of alot better than mine thats for sure..

redfire69 01-17-2012 07:46 AM

Thanks Ron! I'm happy with the design as is, but I've been looking for someone to build the rear panel out of CF by using a repop part as a mold... :_paranoid

Thanks Mario! These repop parts are hell, and these cars differ so much from one to another. I've lost count on the hours I've spent making the quarters, doors, tail pan, etc line up!

When you ordering wheels? I'd love to see em mocked up on the car :unibrow: I haven't seen anyone with the rb3c.

I am sure you have thought of this

but find a real good air brush artist to paint it to match the deck lid.

Car looks killer!
