Doesn't mean that Chris' and others couldn't have been in there also, I think there was just a ton of quality cars there and only a few spots available.

Jody

Jody well said!
But I totally understand what Chris is saying. I can go on for hours on this subject and get my a*@ handed to me ! I choose to here what other people have to say especially any GOOD GUY'S higher ups. Its hard for a guy like me that wants to get into this arena only to have more political BS to deal with!! Im done:cheers:

Hey, there is always going to be sore spots when something is judged. Quality and style is an opinion. Maybe some clear rules stating how each part is judged and what is looked for would help. It appears that more input from Goodguys as to exactly what is looked for is needed. That being said a hot pink car with 22's might be the better quality car and have more creativity than an all black Camaro.

Your car looks killer and unlike most on these sites list your name and who you are. It is easy to post opinions when you do not post who you are. You feel there was a problem and posted what it was. I think you have valid points if rules were broken. A loss on a technical issue sucks but should be enforced no matter who you are. Then again who the F am I to get involved.

Too many nice rides and difficult I am sure to judge and make everyone happy.

Wait till next year when everybody shows up with pro drivers. Didn't JR have a Camaro built by DSE?

Jody

Totally agreed Jody, politics are involved with every show...especially a GG show.
Chris, from what I could see in the limited pictures that were presented, your Camaro is arrow straight and the finish is spectaular...no doubt...and I didn't even see it in person to be able to figure that out.
It is what it is man:yes: ...keep on keeping on doing what you do and your day will come.

I do have a problem being beat by a car with bad body work and paint when we spend so much time on making that perfect.

There were 5 cars outside with better fit and finish then the 5 finalist?

lol, how many different directions can you go? its ok not everyone gets a pros pick, but the RIGHT cars made the top 5, thats for sure.

Jake I would have to disagree on the top five. Im not saying that the five picked didnt deserve it. But the 72 red cuda should have been one of the five IMO I believe the judges overlooked that car. It also would of broke up the multiple camaro and camaro/nova choices.

that 'cuda was really nice. Another car with tuning issues (slow track time). The twin-procharged 6.1 HEMI was definitely an eye catcher. I think that the smoothed over "street rod" styling wasn't what the judges were looking for in a street machine IMO.

As others have said, lot of really nice cars that could have held their own in the top five. So many varying styles to choose from, and each have their merits. Congrats to those who made it and of course to Mike & Jim for outdoing themselves with the Razor.

I noticed a trend in 4 of the 5 "top 5" cars... low on bling in the engine bay and wheels especially.

I was glad to get the opportunity to look over the top 5 yesterday after reading Chris Fesler's post on Saturday night. With any judged event there is going to be some second guessing. I have to say that though I did see the things I think he was talking about, it would have been pretty boring to have this lineup.

black Camaro
black Camaro
black Camaro
gray Camaro
gray Nova-maro

I can imagine the cursing that happened when the trunk on the Time Machines Camaro got crunched. Anybody else see that it looked like someone closed it on top of something?
