More progress last weekend, finished up the sway bar, and pulled the tranny out so I could get the new hydraulic slave in. Also mounted the clutch and new smaller brake master. Now I have clearance for my front down bar on the drivers side. Just about talked into throwing a cam in it while I have access to the front of the motor and the balancer is off. Any suggestions? Magic Stick 3? TR228r? EPS cam?

I just went through your whole thread. Awesome job.

Thanks for the compliment! I'm pushing hard to get this car on the track sometime this year. I'm not too far off, but its all the little things. I need front sheet metal still and that's $$$$ Anyone want to sponsor me? I'll plaster your name all over the car and post on every forum I can think of!

Not to much progress on the Camaro lately, been getting the WS6 ready for Racing and Auto X season, She's all done and I'll be back on the Camaro this weekend I hope, Here's a pic from last weekend at VIR to keep this thread alive for now. The second picture is both me and my son on the track together, he has a race prepped Honda Accord.

So whose and what rate and size front sway bar did you go with? Also need arm length. Thanks.

Beach Cruiser 04-03-2012 08:25 AM

It's a speedway engineering front splined bar, it's 1-1/4 Dia, and it's the thinest wall they make in that size. Arms are also Speedway Engineering, custom bent to CoolWelders Specs (he bent them for me)

Track Junky 04-03-2012 08:37 AM

Whats the rate and what size arms. Been thinking about a top mount sway bar for more travel and I'm getting rates all over the map from DSE(1529 lb/in), Global West(1259 lb/in), Hotchkis(750 lb/in), Hellwig(720 lb/in). How did you go about choosing what rate to go with? The Speedway 42"x1 1/4" solid bar with a 10" arm is rated at 498 lbs/in so with the rates given above I'm not sure where to start.

Beach Cruiser 04-03-2012 08:43 AM

I leaned on a lot of other people and thier opinions. I chose the softest bar in 1 1/4 to start with. Once it's all put together its pretty easy and not to expensive to swap out the bar if all the other componets are there. I havn't driven it yet, so it's and educated shot in the dark! But you gotta start somewhere. Here's a link to speedways Chart http://www.1speedway.com/swaybar42.htm
When I get home I'll measure the length, I don't remember it off the top of my head.
