As it sits, this motor will be +-600 HP (flywheel)
I figure the procharger will add another 150 - 200 HP.

I'm using the stock rods and pistons..... I hate to send it out to have new pistons installed. What do you think?

Rich

I think 600+ is optimistic. :)

I had a stock LS2, fast 90 intake, AFR 205 heads and a 230/232 (112LSA) 0 -- this combo made 572hp.

Your stock bottom end should be fine at that level, I beat the crap out of mine. Now with the boost I'm not as sure. Your LS2 is already at 10.8ish to 1 so you can't go much with boost on the stock hyper pistons.

I know a procharger is sexy for for less $$ you could just stroke the LS2 with a nice forged assembly. Would make almost as much power and entail less install drama.

By the way... nice ride!

I think it's a little late............ In one day Rodger managed to design a plate to bolt up the procharger to a Synyster serpentine setup. I don't think this has ever been done :hail: :

Steve:

I would agree that normally the package I have would be about 30 hp short of the 600 mark but my heads were sent back east to Kenny Bernstein's shop where they did some welding, machining and port work. Apparently they flowed 20% more air when they came back.

Who knows, it might not have made 500.....

Bad Penny has been an inspiration for me throughout my build.
Thanks for the compliment.

I got 600 out of mine and I did nothing to any of the parts. It does have a Kinsler individual runner set up on it though.

Nice work. I'm sure Rodger has this covered, but just in case............. make sure you build a nice brace for the main blower plate to prevent movement. The stock brackets also have this issue, and the twisting movement fore and aft of the blower under throttle makes belt slippage a big issue. It can be as simple as a solid 3/8" steel rod bolted to the main plate near the blower or the blower itself, and mounted to the front of the head, block, intake bolts, etc.

Looks awesome Rich/Rodger.

Rich/Rodger,
Nice progress. Would you have enough room if you mounted the procharger in reverse of the pictures(same style as a c5 or c6 corvette)? You could build an easy air intake for the propeller...just a thought. What motor mounts did you use on the camaro?

David
