i enjoy walking away from my car as soon as i get at a show then coming back like 20 minutes later so no one knows it mine and just listen to the stupid comments people make. the worst ive heard was "ya my cousin had the factory crossram on his dart too." some poeple ill tell yeh haha

I was at some "parking lot" show - and a guy about my age (old) comes over to look at the car... pretty soon he says to me -- "Wow! You must have a ton of dough in that thing... you must have.. what? 10... 15 grand in that by now!"

I said "yeah".... it's a real expensive hobby.

What would be the point in "explaining it" to him... :lol:

My mom is a cosmo instructor and the other night i had to pick her up from work. Two students, one male and one female walk out the front door as im sitting in my car waiting.
the male student looked at the car and said "wow".
female: what is that
male: thats an ss! a chevy ss!
female: really?
male: yeah
famale: its nice
male: you know how much that car costs?
female: how much?

(I couldnt wait to hear how much my malibu was worth)

male: that car costs at least 80 grand!
female really?
male: yep!

Now my car is a decent driver but its just an SS clone malibu! i guess i was just amused because the guy was trying to impress the girl with his car facts and totally missed the mark and the girl just ate it up!

I took my car into get aligned this morning. I needed gas. This guy in his 40s came up wearing a chevy hat and said " Thats a nice Fairlane!"

Standin by my buddy's '04 Mach 1, a guy walks up and says "what motor's in that thing?" I say "it's a DOHC 4.6" He replies " I guess he couldn't spring for the 5.0, Those things cost $7,000 more from the factory"

Its amazing what people will say when your out in your project car..old or young people..I wonder sometimes if they even know what there driving,or have any clue of what makes a car run,or whats Involved in building or restoring a old classic car.,or even not so much a classic car. Some people get it..and the rest will just leave you standing in shock sometimes...I think at times that there just playing around,or to see if the can ''trip'' you up with what there saying to you about your car,but generally most of the time there completely clueless.

This was a couple of years ago..but I was stopped at a local gas station here and had the hood up on my El Camino checking it out, so some older guy walks buy.."wow..nice engine in there'' So I say " oh..thank you '' He goes.."so what ya running in it?" I say "Its got a 383 stroker'' He shakes his head,"Why would you put a Chrysler engine in it?" I almost laughed out loud on him,so just being a smart ass I replied back "Well..actually its a old Ford 289 engine that I had bored out really really big"

Guy goes.."Oh yeah I see...I had one of those in my old 68 Mustang"


So he walks off....

I had been driving my 65 rambler 4 dr..440 emblem on the c pillar stand for the trim package
I cant tell you how many times i heard "dang that things got a 440 in it ,i bet it will fly"..... :lol:
if i tell them "no it has a 6 cylinder "they ask "what did you do with the 440"....:rofl:
