Pictures of the heap. You can see some of the rust issues. But really not too bad overall. It will get new full quarters, roof panel, tail panel, fenders, hood, trunk lid and some floor pan work. I want to do it right and since I have most of the replacement parts already (came with the car) I might as well use them. The quarters I have are not the full size version so I will have to buy those still.

A few more pics for your enjoyment.
Please keep in mind I did not do any of the "repairs" you see. I bought the car already stripped of paint and with the interior still in it. The drivetrain was also still in it. I am kind of irritated they left the door handles and locks, the urethane nose extension, drivetrain and interior in it when they blasted it. It destroyed the nose and all of the lenses on side markers and headlights. The handles are also toast. |
Getting closer to breaking out the knife!! You'll have it looking like the rendering in no time!! :unibrow:

And yet some more pics. See, I really do own a car after all. You can see in the engine pics the big chunk of the #3piston missing. The roller tip rockers had mushroomed all of the valve tips too. The heads are the camel hump castings and the drivers side one has a crack in it between the 1 and 3 cyl. The tranny is also toast. The whole package is a boat anchor now. Good thing I am going big block!

Okay then....
I have a plasma cutter -- a couple body saws... 100's of cut off wheels... and multiple grinders of various sizes.... I see some serious slicin' and dicin' in your future! LOL |

Some more. There is some rot in the metal frame inside the urethane nose. You can see what a good wheel chock a second gen bumper makes (it's bent anyway). The bike is my therapist and the boat is for sale (hint, hint...):D

Are those bores oval?

And what car from the 70's would be complete without a pot pipe? Or at least half of one. I found this in the glove box wedged in the back. I'm guessing it has been there a very long time.

I have no idea what they were thinking when they blasted it. |
Looks like a fairly solid car. You had better spend less time here and more time in the garage. You have a boat load of work to do!:unibrow:
