They're top notch - and they get top notch prices. Most of them where sold on the FIRST DAY of BJ... so I was out of luck on a couple things I would have bought.

Hey, I know of a super cool restored GULF gas pump for sale.. can snap a picture of it if you like.

Having attended BJ and RS for the past 4 years start to finish...I can tell you that attendance was definitely down. We went to Pavillions on Saturday about noon...then headed over to BJ at about 2pm.

Last year at 2pm...there wasn't a parking place to be had anywhere near BJ (even if you had a parking pass like I did)...

This year, when I left at 5:30pm on Saturday night, there were still public parking spaces available right across from the main tent...and there were still seats available in the bidders area (not so last year...or the years prior).

Was it the weather...the economy...or a bit of both?

I hear that Greg got a good deal on some lighting:D

I'm sure. The auction co. will always get it close to the reserve.

On a reserve auction, if the reserve isn't met, the last bid means nothing.

LOL...it is much better in person. If you haven't been there...you've definitely missed out. Everyone should attend at least once.

Though, there are tons of armchair quarterbacks that have never been to these auctions but still have nothing good to say about the auctions. They base their opinions on.....what?

Either way...sitting there in person takes it to a whole different level...but it's really LOUD!

I had to step out for dinner and what not... i just ended up Twittering the event. :)

I tried to stick around the house and watch... but the commercials were killing me. I was also getting frustrated because my fantasy bids were always 10-25k too high!!
