Mark, your car is badass and I'm sorry you didn't get your number. I'm sure it was worth every penny you were hoping for. |

Mark,
I am sorry you did not get your number.....but you got guts  I mean it must have had less than a 1000 miles on it? Your car was awesome and while the number is low I would still guess you came out better than others because you did most of the work yourself. I look forward to your next build. |

Yeah, I didn't really loose on it, I made, but I was hoping for more. I have no labor cost in the car, and I don't really count my time because it's just something I do because I can, I enjoy it, and it beats watching TV. Getting magazine coverage helps when it comes time to buy parts too, ;) . |
Some people do make money.
I just got a market report from my friend Anthony that ran EmptyNest and II Much last year. He takes multiple cars to auctions, especially Barrett Scottsdale and Vegas. It was his stroke which got us the killer run numbers for our cars. He said overall things were strong this year and said he saw your car Mark and thought it went $15K to $20K light. He made mad stacks though. He took a early C1 Vette, he bought for $60K, had $64K in it at the door at Vegas, it broke the bank and he got $125K. Also had a Mid Vette, had $32K in it at the door at Vegas, got $57K, and a Ferrari made $6K on a $30K car. And he made a nice $5K commission running a friends car. So money is made. He also bought 2 cars which I think he stole one of them, we will see how good he did come Mecum Orlando On the other side of the coin, his friends (dealers) took a GTO convertible they had $125K in and it brought $57K. So the pendulum swings both ways. |
been there done that . I to fell for the barret jackson hype. also fell for sun. is still primetime .a very expensive trip to pay for and get your azz kicked.should have taking my money and betting I could put a piece of coal up my but before the auction and turned it into a diamond. prob. would have had better luck. was kinda cool to spend the week there to see behind the scenes as for the auction goes they really need to step up to the plate and know what in front of them and take care of the people that are feeding there greed!got my 1.5 min of enjoyment in the spotlight and then stood back and asked myself what just happened.oh yea and me to have been disillusioned by the bj. experienced. lol.
