researching mufflers Rob? By the way, I would want to know how loud, or how much resonance each of the mufflers had at 1800rpm where they all tend to drone a little bit (or a lot).

Cool!
Now which one sounds the best? I don't mind giving up a few hp for a better sound. |

I hear that but it is totally subjective. Flash recommends straight pipes. :unibrow: Quote:
Always researching each piece to try to avoid doing any one thing twice. I agree on the drone. I'm thinking Borla stainless right now, maybe even a secondary resonator out back by the fuel cell, but we'll see. |

Rob, I would suggest you catch a ride in my car with Magnaflows, or Gregg's with Borlas, but those are both LS powered cars and an old school Ford would sound entirely different. Personally, I would try and find out what a set of Bassani mufflers would sound like. They have perforated chamber walls, but I think they also have a straight through passage. They might give you a nasty old school sound with a twist. They made the wimpy little 4.6 3V in my old car sound downright mean too! Matt |

I can find anything in 30 sec if $$ is no object. Quote:
Mufflers are like wheels so many choices and in some ways it is very subjective. The db figures I posted only tell you level of sound. Also the hp and torque difference in the top tier is negligible. I had already seen that post on the GT forum but read it again the guy decided he wanted to keep the seats. I'm still stalking you buddy. :D |
