The Corvette hit the dyno last week and performed very nicely. It made 434 hp to the rear wheels at 6800 RPM. That is about a 40 HP gain and peak power went from the old of 6400 to the new of 6800. The torque peak was just about the same as the old motor, about 400 to the rear wheels. The curve is much flatter than the old motor. Redline went from a limted 7000 RPM to 7500 RPM. The intenal parts will allow us to do this with no problem. We lowered the compression a full point to allow us to run pump gas. This cost us some HP. Overall, it should be a very well rouned motor that we can beat on for years to come.

This was a great week for me and my Dad. With the Corvette back running we ran two autocross days this weekend. The car ran great. The power is just about perfect. The car is handling great and about to get better!

The Big News announced this past week was:

Wilwood Disc Brakes and I are going to join forces again to compete in the 2013 Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational. Here is what was posted on their Facebook page:

Wilwood is very pleased to announce that Brian Hobaugh will be representing Wilwood Disc Brakes at the 2013 Optima Batteries Ultimate Street Car Invitational in his 1965 Corvette Stingray wide-body. Stay tuned into our Facebook page for a feature video soon.

I took some photos of the car and took a few with my Camaro.

Brian,
Is that an LT1? If not, what kind of fuel Injection is on there?

The fuel injection unit is from TPIS. The style is like the LT1, but it is much larger inside. We have a 58 MM throttle body and 40 lb injectors to go with it. The engine management is an ACCEL DFI Gen 7.
