Got a bit of progress today.. We slowed down a bit because we were waiting for the rear-end from Speedway Engineering to complete the floating axle ends.. Tomorrow we start the rear qtr panel flares.. got 50% of the mini-tubs done.. Got the radiator with fan in place.. Setrab coolers done! Got a bunch fiberglass pcs coming in from AAR..

Got some rear stretch & flares going on today in the fabrication shop… We lowered the top of the opening to give the car a lowered effect to maintain ground clearance & suspension travel.. But we also pulled the lower bottom of the qtr so that we keep from kicking up rocks to cover the tire but also works as a deflector of air ..

This is something custom they do for JCG on the exhaust tubing & custom mufflers… What you see is 2.50 & 3.00 tubing .049 wall.. Next tubing kit they do for me will be 2.75.. http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...ps59eae1bf.jpg |
Last weekend I heard a LS motor with a Borla exhaust and let me tell you the sound was incredible. At some point I will without a doubt be changing my mufflers to Borla.

Better knock this one out of the park Cris; the Mopar purists have gotten wind and aren't too thrilled! :stirthepot:

70 Challenger
It appears that you have skills in building cars. Here's my question; why would you build a car like that starting with a such rare example as an original 440 Six Pack car? You've removed so much of what made it special in the first place that you may as well have started with a Plain Jane slant 6 or 318 car, or better yet, a new Dynacorn body. In my opinion you've built a nice car but unnecessarily accomplished 2 additional things, you've ruined a piece of history, and thrown away a lot of the cars original value for no good reason.

Don't get me wrong, this isn't about me being happy or unhappy, more like disgusted, and while I am definitely a Mopar person, I also appreciate all makes. No, I wouldn't ever put a GM or Ford engine in a Mopar, but if someone else chooses too that's fine by me. However I do find it illogical to throw away money and a historical object for no substantial reason.
Think of it this way, would any of you GM guys cut up and modify a similar car starting with a nice original COPO, Yenko, ZL-1, etc. Camaro? |
