The '62 was my first trigger when I saw this! Hopefully we get out of the tool hall long enough to see some of these cars this year!

Chris the intricacy these components is exceptional!

Thanks!
Probably one of our biggest drives is not just coming up with a cool idea, but actually executing the final design and engineering as close to the concept as possible. Not an easy thing to pull of when parts and pieces reach high levels of intricacy. For example, the tail panel piece you will see in detail for the '64 Chevelle looks really clean and fairly simple in appearance. It's actually made up of 38 individually machined pieces, led boards, lenses and 136 pieces of hardware!

Today's pic: 3 machined pieces we dubbed the 'pringles'.

There is a good opening right ahead of where the pic is cropped.
(2nd gen doors are about 10 feet long remember...)

The pringles are cool, were they done on a multi axis machine? How were they fixtured?

Chris, This Chevelle has got to be one of my favorite back ends of a car I've seen on here, and that is saying something with all the beautiful builds and talent on Lat-g. I always loved 64 Chevelles. Once its revealed please post more pictures.

Thanks Wayne!
As Phil touched on earlier, the '64 convertible body wasn't something we had considered 'sexy' until we started getting into it.

Much of the cars original 'features' were really concentrated in the tailpanel and front fascia. When you analyze it a little, it is actually a fairly modern styling principal to have much of the vehicles character in the headlight/grille area and rear with clean body lines through the mid section with little fuss added. (Think Audi, Porsche etc) This offered up a really nice platform to add some nice contemporary cues and really tighten up the styling of the car. We will absolutely do a full build thread update after the big reveal!
