I’ve gotten side tracked on the ‘shop truck’...aka Belushi
Day it came home.. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...86e2396529.jpg Some suspension changes.. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...bc43a04063.jpg Interior before... https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f60be842da.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...1e6b0b922d.jpg Now... (it isn’t finished as I’m waiting on a seat cover and some door panel trim) https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...5752f8e3d1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...bf8c3ccc39.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...57f063e6db.jpg And, this... I got the intake leak on Martha finally fixed!
On another note.... I also needed to post a before and after of Belushi...(after the drop and detailing) https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...841930de63.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2f4a685ba8.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Well, I got all the little leaks solved and the Broader Performance AOD took a dump! So, I’m hunting a 4r70w to put in that POS’s place.

Haven’t had much time to tinker on the Falcoon for quite some time. Only due to my automotive ADHD. I bought, fixed up & just sold a 1987 R10 Chevy Silverado.
So now I’m getting back to the Falcon. While working on the Chevy, https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...73f785b566.jpgI did get an ‘01 V6 4r70w, had it rebuilt, ordered a PTC 10” convertor and the US Shift Quick 4 controller & harness, and the Lokar shift shaft. I’ll have to have the aluminum driveshaft shortened 1” related to 7/8” longer transmission housing. I did have to offset the crossmember mounts rearward 1” and ‘modify’ the trans tunnel to clear the larger bellhousing of the 4r70w vs the AOD. I’ve had the trans in & out 3 times to get fitment worked out. Once the new parts arrive, I’ll get the shift shaft swapped out and in it will go. PTC says 2-3 weeks on the convertor, so I’m going to get to work on the interior work. Just a gratuitous shot of the Chevy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Not up to date on the blue oval stuff.... Is the 4r70w an updated/improved version of the AOD? Or diff trans altogether?

It’s an electronically controlled tranny. Kind of an AOD on steroids. Think, 4L80e vs a 700r4. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I got the PTC convertor today. I also received the US Shift Quick 4 controller this week.
But, I’m still waiting on the Lokar shift shaft, so I’m stuck on hold until it gets here. I have to have it so I can get it installed before I’ll be able to install the transmission. I ordered it well before I got the other stuff... AGGRAVATING. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Glad you're still making progress on the Falcon. You did great work on the trucks. I feel you on the automotive ADHD. I have trouble deciding to work on the TA or a BMW I bought. Good luck moving forward with whatever you're working on.
