Looks killer Bob! As mentiond a few times - The inners look great! I was wondering how your we're able to do it. I wanted to do mine also, but will not fit through opening of my bead roller. Radiator support looks good also! Nice progress!

I had the entire inner fender reshaped, all welded in and then came up with the idea. I didn't want to start over ( neither did my wallet ), luck would have it Tim worked with a guy that had a real big Pullmax with a real deep head, I'm talking clearance in feet not inches. The core support close out panel, Tim and I did that with a bead roller. It was a 2 person job. It's hard holding the part and feeding it when trying to do real sharp radii. |
Bob, really good talking with you yesterday and thanks for the help. Car looks killer. Your exhaust system is spectacular, I'm going to half to make a drive down soon and take a looky. Thanks again.

Small update.
I've been working on the car in my spare time, which isn't much. I decided to remove the FAST intake and do something a bit more custom. While I was at it. I milled the Chevrolet and bowtie off the valve covers, also removed the ribs down the center of the center bolts. Since I was at it I milled the lettering off the fuel rails and cleaned them up also. Fuel lines for the fuel rails are also done. Here is a before picture of the valve covers. http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...o/DSC00004.JPG Here is a before picture of the FAST intake http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...o/DSC00007.JPG Here is where I started to get creative. With a factory style intake, it just looks so short in the engine bay. I wanted to take up some of the available real estate. I also tried to tie the intake to the new inner fenders. My photography skills are lacking. Here is the best I can do to show the outcome. http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...o/P1020043.JPG http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...amaro/eng3.JPG http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...amaro/eng5.JPG |
Looks great Bob! I like the way you've carried forward the design in the inner wheel well sheet metal into the intake etc.
SOOOOOO much better than that grey plastic look! |
Great work Tony. I'm digging it, it's almost like an alien or praying mantis.
|
Oooohhh weeee!!:woot: Those valve covers look like they were custom made like that instead of being cast GM valve covers. Nobody will ever be able to tell. That intake is killer too. I like the design on top of it.

It's getting closer. |
You better pick on somebody your own size. :D

Killer, Jimmy! Nelson calls his intake the Alien but I think yours is closer.

Beautiful job! At first I thought to myself, Too bad I like those valve cover like that. Boy was I wrong. They look sweet all milled down. I love the intake too. Very Nice.

Nice work Bob, turned out great. Ever considered design as a career?
 |

Okay -- Well I've aged a year and taken 12 more vacations.... Surely something has gone on down there that we should know about??
Hey - Rudy's car is at Dan's Custom Upholstery there on like 80th just north of Stark Street.... you should drop by and check it out. Let me know what you think of the new paint and bodywork. |

Not much on my Camaro been busy working on Ironworks stuff. I have a few things designed for my car that need to be machined, then fit them on the car and then its off to paint. I try and stop and check it out. I wonder if they are there on the weekend? P.S. whats the 411 on RTTC this year? We going in style this year? |

I'm not going at all this year... I'm doing Grand National -- then coming home and going back over to Sun Valley. Then a quickie trip in early February to Elkhart for trailer details and back to Sun Valley.... :woot: When I'm "done" with SV -- I've got Pierre's '56 here to do an engine swap. He had a new 496 Brodix head BBC built -- and he needs some wiring done and a few "tweaks"... and worse yet - he wants to help! OMG... but we'll have fun and have a few laughs. |

my first update in a long time.
Worked on a new front valance. I was going to just do a Marquez Design, however Tim suggested I keep the car all metal instead of putting fiberglass on it now at this point. So we worked on a few ideas and this is the one that stuck. I played around in CAD first to see what it would look like. Moved the lights out 6 inches and made 2 openings. http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...NING_rev-b.JPG The layout and the start of moving stuff around. http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...ance_start.JPG Tim metal finishing it up. http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...o/finished.jpg Mocked up on the car. http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...lance_done.jpg |
That looks really good Bob!
|
To funny, I remove the holes and added lights and you widen the lights in order to add the holes....that's what makes them our own. Really like the outcome, Tim does awesome work. Can't wait to see it finished, keeper' rollin' !
|
Thats a great idea Bob! I have really been toying with doing the same thing.
|
It looks nice.
|
very nice
|
I've been following your posts on facebook........ I'm glad to see you posted them here too.
Great progress! I admire your use of scanning actual car panels, bumpers, etc. in order to see your vision on the computer before you actually fab the parts. --Eric |
another small update.
Stripping the coating and primer getting it ready for paint. http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...maro/photo.JPG Also wanted to make a rear spoiler that I could call my own. its shorter and leaned back a bit, but plays off the original spoiler style. Tim has it all tacked in place. it needs to be all welded and then metal finished. http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...aro/photo1.jpg http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...aro/photo2.jpg |
I really like your Camaro...... Keep the pics coming!
--Eric |
Love the spoiler Bob!
