Funny you should say that. Eric sat right next to Tracy at the Lonestar steak house a few weeks ago and they had a very good conversation about hypothetically doing the interior in a nova convertible, some day. As the booze keep flowing the ideas got more and more out there. At the end I heard something about a 10 gallon fish tank with subwoofers. At that point Tracy said something about sponsorship and a dream come true.
  JUNK....:D |

All, That was a great dinner we had that night in Columbus...... Tracey explained all the factors that he considers when doing an interior. And that is why his fishtanks look the best!!!...... (just kidding). He did explain how he formulates his creations. By the sounds of it, Tracey can squeeze me in on September 23, 2010 at 8:46 a.m. If I miss that date/time, he'll move on to something else. I should have gone with delivering the car to Tracey on April 1st (April Fool's Day like Rodger did with John's 66 Nova). --Eric |
My favorites.....
This has been an awesome build for me so far! I have tried to figure out what my favorite fabricated/modified parts are so far. I have several.
1) The inner fenderwells. If you notice below, all of the bolts are hidden. You cannot see the fender bolts, the fenderwell bolts, or the radiator support bolts! http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n...a/P1010203.jpg 2) The headers. These look awesome to me. I can't wait to see them with the fenderwells! http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n...hoppics001.jpg 3) The trunk mod. As you can see, we (Ironworks) sectioned the trunk lid so that the vertical portion is part of the car (more trunk pics to follow soon). http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n...a/DSC_0323.jpg http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n...a/DSC_0326.jpg 4) The IRS and rear six-speed. I just love this pic! http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n...8-1-200861.jpg The more I think of this car, the more favorite things I have....... and there are many more mods/fabricated items to come! --Eric |

When you have driven 2100 miles in 2.2 day and your 140 miles from you bed and you bust your second radiator in 5 days. Trust Radiator Stop Leak to fix your Sorry Ass FORD. My name is Rodger Lee and I Use this product. :D  |

Ironworks is an outlet for me to get my "vision" turned into reality. My problem is: I want to to it all myself, however, I don't have the tools (yet). For now, I'm sticking with Ironworks. Talk to Rodger.... he works on Camaros (when he isn't working on Novas!!!!!!!). --Eric |

More Trunk Lid Fabrication!
The original trunk seal obviously wrapped around the original trunk opening. Since the trunk lid was cut into two pieces (main lid and vertical section), a new thrunk opening had to be created.
Here is a pic of the new opening: http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n...a/P1010209.jpg It was fairly easy to cut off the vertical portion of the lid, but then the underside needed a lot of attention. Brycen to the rescue!!!! Check this out. He made it look like stock (and its not even done yet): http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n...a/P1010207.jpg Here is a pic of the trunk lid in-place. The missing section is where the spoiler will go. The spoiler will be part of the skin, not just attached on top: http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n...a/P1010205.jpg This last pic shows the spoiler fabrication in process: http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n...a/P1010200.jpg --Eric |

Spoiled.......
Here are a few pics on progress of the all-metal spoiler that Ironworks so masterfully built...........
Before spoiler: http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n...a/P1010209.jpg After spoiler: http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n...ust2009103.jpg Notice that the sheetmetal underneath the spoiler was cut away..... the spoiler is not just an add-on piece.... it is part of the rear quater panels and trunk. I think Ironworks nailed the shape: http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n...ust2009102.jpg --Eric |
Very nice Eric. I just ordered 30 sheets of 20 gauge. Man am I going to scrap some metal trying to live up to this stuff! :hail: Keep up the great work.
