I am actually his long lost twin that went over to the dark side as I happen to have a '65 Mustang. :_paranoid

I must say, I'm starting to like to Cameros. Especially John's. Ron's is okay too, I guess.

Vegas69 04-24-2012 03:51 PM

Turn it around and put the air filter in the cowl. :unibrow:

Ron in SoCal 04-24-2012 03:56 PM

Grind baby grind! Guys on 'tech do it all the time w their Nick Williams biilet TBs. The other alternative would be to get a different accsy drive configuration, but if low mount AC make sure it clears your sub...

sik68 04-24-2012 04:09 PM

Grind you accessories and/or TBs up, IMHO.

Love watching this car come together!

Firehawk_McLeod 04-24-2012 04:44 PM

thicker intake gaskets? Just maybe enough to clear

RickM415 04-24-2012 08:00 PM

I would hate for that car to backfire under boost ,poor intake ...i know the fast intakes used to crack inside does it have any pressure reliefs ?

The intake was pressure tested at 100psi. The external "pretty" carbon is for decoration and looks. Underneath that is the aerospace carbon which is way more sturdy and can handle the boost. The BOV should open before the pressure gets too high anyways right?

That roll bar is still sitting in my garage if you wanted it.

Tom.A 04-24-2012 08:21 PM

IMO I say just ditch the whole tt set up unless you have plenty of dough for a good tuner. Just get a Maggie and call it a day. Car is looking great.

Todd, I have the same manifold coming and I have thought of the same thing, I will wait and see when it gets here.

John a little of all the part's and you should get clearance.

Greg

DRJDVM's '69 04-24-2012 08:31 PM

Grinder...... it looks pretty close so it doesnt look like it will take much...

RickM415 04-24-2012 08:46 PM

well good to know it could handle the pressure =D ...but ya the BOV will only save the turbos if the tbs are closed but anyways yes i still want it haha but not looking good still .... :(

brianjw4 04-24-2012 10:02 PM

The wastegates control the amount of boost pressure, which in this case will be about 7psi. The BOV relieves residual boost pressure when the throttle is released.

The intake is safe as long as we can make it fit :D

Looks like the Tb's and compressor are getting ground down!

That would be sick......unless it rained.

DRJDVM's '69 04-25-2012 05:00 PM

Direct water injection.... Isn't that good for forced induction set ups? :)

The manifold is bad ass.... Make it fit.... It makes the car

John510 05-10-2012 03:15 PM

The shop cut into the dash today and welded in my dash insert that Kevin Oeste made and fabbed up a spot for the push button. Top hole is for a vent and the bottom oval is the vintage air control knobs. Still trying to get the manifold to work with the AC compressor so no updates on that yet.

That's what I thought. That's what I'm running too. I also had one on my TKO 600 and loved it.

Musclerodz 05-22-2012 05:58 PM

How do you plan on accessing the reservoirs?

Unscrew the cowl panel.

Vegas69 05-22-2012 08:52 PM

I understand why you did it but I hate things that are hard to service. You'll find out soon enough.
