Awsome car and very nice work. The one thing that gets me is how many pepole have an extra DSE sub frame to use when working on the car??? One looks to be under the car in the pictures of body work and then one for engine mock up. Very cool!!!! :hail: :hail: :hail:

While Joe and Paul have the car on the rotisserie I have the sub frame and the rad support. I should be done in time to put it back under the car so they can finish the body work.

Ok Cool, I got it now. But still would be cool to have an extra DSE sub frame laying around!!

We've been making some good progress on Marks car the last few weeks, we got most of the parts painted saturday and now just have the shell left, here are a few shots I took this weekend.

nice work joe/paul.
standox is the stuff for sure.
next time, try the 2k hs clear, lays on nice and can be sanded and buffed for months.

rwhite692 01-18-2010 04:10 PM

Volkswagen Salsa Red. Very nice color, it has a nice darker shade to it.

Rick D 01-18-2010 04:41 PM

Looks very nice. I second the Standox HS flows out much better than 15 - 60 clear.

Stielow 01-18-2010 04:57 PM

Reds

I tormented Laura my girl friend with "REDS" for 2 months prior to SEMA and that was after wine.

We would driving by dealers looking at cars and spraying out paint samples. The VW Salsa Red appealed to me. It could be I like reds because I'm a little color blind in the yellow and blue spectrum.

Joe and Paul are doing a great job. The paint looks and feels great. This car will be very nice.

Mark Stielow says "This car will be very nice".

Yeah we hope so too Mark -- 'cause all your other builds have been so lame...

NovaBlue71 01-18-2010 05:04 PM

Standox hs clear

Jake, Rick, I'll have to look at the hs.The 15-60 plus is a totally new product and spray's nothing like the old 15-60. I have sprayed both and the 15-60 plus has alittle of that 2k premium feel to it.thanks Joe.

Stenod 01-18-2010 06:33 PM

Looking killer mark!

Shouldn't take long to assemble once she's back from paint

I almost painted my car that same color. Had some spray outs done with it, too. I really like that color.

That makes sense. Guys(males) are more common to have a red/green color deficiency---just one more thing that makes you unique!
...sorry just the eye doc in me.:_paranoid

Red looks great Mark. Thanks for the updates.

Mark,
Do you still plan on running a 4 point in this camaro?

Bowtieracing 01-21-2010 12:16 AM

Looks really nice Mark! Cant wait to see your dyno numbers with that engine.

Sorry for some off topic but what is that airfilter ? I am going to place my inlet tube similar way in left side fender. And would like to know what airfilter to use - As big as possible and with 4" inlet.

I gave the guy writing the book all the material in June last year....the ball is in his court. :_paranoid

I just left Thomson Automotive (http://thomsonautomotive.com). The long block on my engine is togther and they were just bolting on the blower. We should have dyno data this week. I have had a few engines built but this one has me very excited. All the parts looks great and the package should be awsome. I'll post pictures and data when I get it.

Looking forward to getting the car back from paint and starting to work on it again.

Should be a fun summer of track events.

I think I will aim for the Putnum Park event May 30. May 1 is a little aggressive for timing. Still have a lot of work to do.
