Exactly what I was thinking---will keep moving forward with the new parts install anyways---but looking forward to making the event. Will see if the Posi is worth anything time wise. It's going to be strange without you Todd and Rich. I will be saving almost 2k on food purchases and Bud Light though.

Vegas69 09-28-2012 10:08 PM

And move up a couple positions in the standings. (We know, once you get done hoarding parts)

No worries! 138 rwhp won't hurt it...

DFRESH 09-29-2012 04:09 PM

This is like a soap opera---the popping and banging is back in full force--along with a vibration over 75. Took the car out today for a full beat down to ensure I was good.

Fail.

Spectator only.

Matt@BOS 09-29-2012 04:22 PM

Can you put it back to the way it was, and just buy a new tire in preparation for RTTC?

I hate to see you side lined for this event. You're always welcome to ride shotgun with me.

Thought about it--but the old third member is long gone---the deed is done. The car wins this round.

Flash68 09-29-2012 09:05 PM

and.... back to the race car. :faint:

Hard to tell from the pic. But it looks like you have a 8.5 rear? We have or at least had an open carrier at work I could get down to you. And if it's a 12 bolt, my bud has an open carrier down in Huntington Beach. Let me know

Vegas69 09-30-2012 08:33 AM

You have plenty of time to throw in a carrier. It seems something always comes up at the last minute. If I was closer, I'd gladly help you.

I have my credits with AAA already - let me in damnit! lol (I remember those test drives from home..... fail. AAA back home. Test drive...... fail. AAA..... Argh!!!)

Doug - let us know what you need bud. One of us is bound to be sitting on a part that can help get you there. Also it seems we agree these events are always way more fun with you participating.

I can think of a special, and very exclusive club just for you Gregg.

Doug, since you were registered, and ready to go, can I interest you in the "rental car?" Yancy had it last year, and I told him he was free to take it out on the track if he wanted. It has 250whp of goodness and an automatic transmission. It doesn't handle very well, but it is more power than you're used to, so it could be fun!

GregWeld 09-30-2012 11:07 AM

OUCH!

What do you use to buff out an ego?

Cris@JCG 09-30-2012 05:12 PM

If it would have be 9" Ford.. Have plenty of 3rd members lying around.. I would have let you borrow one..

If you want to go off roading @ RTTC.. I have an available seat. :D

Aside from the thread derailing, the upgrades look good keep us posted Doug.

Flash68 10-02-2012 12:20 PM

You think Dougie can engage in thread dismantling and then have his own thread impervious? I think NOT!

Agreed.

Like the Chairman of the Board (aka Greg Weld) says...

"It's about the people, not the cars."

At least for some of us it is...

Nessumsar 10-03-2012 08:58 AM

You going to be at RTTC on Sunday, Doug? Hope to see you out there.

Good to be back---

Guys, wanted to let you know I seem to be past the worst of my physical crap and it looks like I am going to live. I won't bore you with any of those details other than to say it sucked---but I am glad to be alive and back in the game. I recently took several of my parts stash over to Brett at Fab 53 to get back on the car and start getting some of my accumulated parts actually put in the car. It's good to be back on Lat G---looking forward to seeing many of you guys at the SEMA Lat G party. Below is Brett's update thus far;

Apollo 13 is the new "Stance" project. Why you ask? Well frankly, the name Apollo was only adding to the frustration Dr Renner was having with, what seamed like every little project for his 69 Camaro, when ever he worked on her.

So, Now... with a few things taken care of in Dr Renners life, He is back at it again. Missing the friendship and competition of being out with... "Stance", The SpeedTech Torque Arm project is getting ready to unfold. I have been asked to keep you informed and show pictures of this process of installing one of the markets best Torque Arm rear end suspension. What will make this story different is that "Stance" is low... like real low compared to most 69 Camaros. And Dr Renner has asked to keep the "Stance".

This project is for a SpeedTech rear Torque Arm installation with Baer brakes and a few other modifications to keep it's existing super low stance. As a matter of fact... The owner of this car has renamed the project "Stance" and I will be posting a more detailed how-to write up in the near future.

I've been wondering if he'd fallen down a hole somewhere. Or maybe ran off with Big Wanda!!

Doug,

I did not know you were sick but I am glad to hear your are doing better. I had a little scare myself last month and spent 6 days in the hospital but also on the mend. The parts stash is going to make you fast as you always did well with the one legged beast. Look forward to updates

BANKO 07-27-2013 09:21 PM

I was just thinking how I hadn't seen you around here for a while. Glad to hear you're back and making progress on your car. Hope to see you at a future NorCal GG show.
