How about this:unibrow: Beat the snot out of it at every event possible this year and then take it to paint prison. The events will take a toll on your new paint job.

ironworks 12-30-2010 10:25 AM

Chris I'm glad to hear the engine worked out for you. Did you sell the 67 yet? I had some guy from down under email me about finishing the car after the first of the year.

So far the motor has definitely "worked out" :unibrow: No money has exchanged hands of yet but he sounds like he's gonna take it. Kinda weird, I've had two other emails this week asking if the car is still available from a couple guys i had spoken with previously. Guess we'll see what happens ;)

ironworks 12-30-2010 09:39 PM

Maybe it will work out for both of us.

Dude, yes indeed. Listen to the voice of wisdom here. Todd knows what he's talking about when he makes that statment. Get the bugs worked out, put miles on the car at the track and on the road. I would def paint if after that---I can't believe the road rash my car has from 8 events and almost 7,000 miles on it in this past year alone.

I'd leave the paint scheme as is, but I am biased.

Doug

That was the original plan to leave the paint scheme as is. However, once we started getting into removing the chrome pieces and emblems we hit the "snowball" effect! One thing led to another and instead of doing it half assed now & going back later to do it all over again I just decided to do it right the first time and get it done now :unibrow: We have already completed the body work and the car is in primer, they will start blocking in the car next week and get it ready to shoot :D

Once it leaves paint prison it's game on!!! :unibrow:

sixtnine 01-01-2011 04:20 PM

I can't wait to see the Camaro after the paint is finished.

cdushane 01-22-2011 07:40 AM

Yesterday we painted the hood, rear deck lid, doors and all the miscelaneous parts. They will prep the car itself on Monday to paint on Tuesday, cant wait :unibrow: I'll post some pics late next week once its all painted. Still tossing the matte black stripes around but I really think I wanna try it and see how it looks! I figure my last car was solid black so lets make this one a little diffirent.

DIGI-TAILS 01-22-2011 08:29 AM

Glad to hear the progress Chris. Cant wait to see it. :)

Very cool Chris.
I think the matte black stripes would look great. Keep us posted.

cdushane 01-27-2011 07:20 AM

As of yesterday my car was painted and they were working on wet sanding the miscelaneous pieces :D I'll be taking a trip up there today or tomorrow and will post some pics. Once we get everything back together I will be taking it to the dyno for final tune and see what kind of numbers we get out of it, once that's done it's play time :unibrow:

cdushane 02-04-2011 12:39 PM

Looks great Chris. Very nice.
Are you doing the stripes as well?:_paranoid

cdushane 02-10-2011 10:05 AM

Well the car is back together and we are finishing up a few items that needed to be addressed. So now the big question is leave it all black or put on some matte black stripes, what do you guys think:question:

Payton King 02-10-2011 12:46 PM

I would do a matte D-90 stripe

"SS Hockey stripe" Just for a little something different and a whole lot easier to lay out.

cdushane 03-03-2011 05:48 AM

It's finally done and going through a complete detail today. I will be picking it up tomorrow and some time over the weekend between thrashing the s@*t out of it I will take some pictures and get them posted up :woot:

For some reason I had missed this whole thread.
Just took a quick skim, and the car came out awesome.

I will have to go back and read it all when I get a chance.

cdushane 03-04-2011 07:51 AM

Yeah, not much sleep last night and I think I've done 8 hours of work already this morning just so I can get outa here by lunch time to pick up my car :D I'll be sure to post some pics and an update after the weekend

cdushane 03-18-2011 07:25 AM

I've had my car back for a few weeks now and put about 150 miles on it, so far so good. Still need to get the tune complete and I'm looking for some one else in the area that can do it as I'm not rea; happy with the guy that did the first tune. I'll be taking it to Cars & Coffee tomorrow at the Dupont Registry and possibly going down to Bradenton Motorsport Park for the LSX shhotout :unibrow: Here are a few quick pics I was able to finally take last night........

Thanks for all the compliments guys  Took it to cars & coffee this morning, a gallardo superleggra parked next to me and it was funny how
many people walked passed it to see my car :D
I got to meet Bill with "Evade", he's got a really nice car as well and I'm really considering the flush mount glass after seeing it on his car. Also found a good tuner that was recommended by a lot of guys including Evade so I'll be calling him on Monday to see about getting this thing dialed in :unibrow:
