We tend to be pretty efficent when it comes to time but obviously I get pretty generous with hours on something that requires alot of time to have the end product that we want!!!

Very nice fabrication and creativity going on down there. Keep it up!
I foresee your shop to be definitely on a list of where to go for fab work in the midwest. And around here (WI/ILL.) that list is pretty small:thumbsup:

Awesome fab work..

MSTSFabbed 05-14-2012 05:17 PM

Unbelievable... Alright help me understand if you don't mind- Youre interior panels/package tray and maybe dash too(?) are aluminum, I'm gonna guess 3003-H6? If you get a chance do you mind showing a picture of the back side of your door panels?? I'm curious if you butt weld all those panel edges or lap weld them?

When you do your insets like on the trunk floor, are you using a flange die or a buck and blunt chisel? I keep warping the tar out panels with a flange die...I'm sorry I don't mean to pry on trade secrets or anything, you just obviously know what youre doing haha!

Youre work is frickin amazing! Can't wait to see more! :willy:

Yes all the interior panels are 3003 aluminum. Everything is butt welded no lap welding. Once we have the front all welded we weld the back side of all the seams as well. This allows all the finish work to be done (hammering and sanding the welded areas flat) with out any cracks in the weld.

As far as the offset inserts go we used a step die in our pullmax machine to acheive this. I will post pics of both once I am back at work.

Let me guess this one wasn't big enough for Troy??:wow:

MSTSFabbed 05-15-2012 06:34 AM

Ooooooohhh ok that all makes more sense. Dang that is alot of welding time if youre doing both sides, but that makes good sense. Explains some of the cracking issues I've had. Ah, yeah a Pullmax would make some quick work of that haha. Sweet!

What thickness Al and steel do you typically work with? I'm guessing like 0.030'' AL and about 20-20ga steel?

Thanks for the insight!!

Nice work as usual. Troy, I was wondering if you make upper control arm for Trailblazer SS, I saw on your website that you offer Colorado arms.
