Which parts are we referring to? Two years from now I will finally be able to make a judgement on the trickle down theory if Trevor's car has Hooker headers, Fikse wheels, a 402 LS engine, etc.

Well one thing's for sure, I'm not giving him my Turnkey engine. Those LS2s are known to bust tie-down straps while on the dyno. And that's just too much power for a youngster.

Here's some shots of the exhaust that Jimmy Warner (Warner's Mufflers in Oceanside  ) installed:

Thanks guys. Yea, I'm definitely excited to get her on the road. Car goes up to Eric Thorsen Monday for the interior. I just made a quick road trip to Phoenix to pick up my radiator from Ron Davis.

Should be able to drive it in about 2 1/2 weeks. Good Guys Del Mar if all goes well. :woot:

I'll post a video.

BBC71Nova 03-09-2012 02:58 PM

Looking good. Can almost see the finish line I bet :)

What wheel and tire did you end up going with?

Thanks. I went with 18 inch Fikse FM5s. Gloss black centers with polished hoops. 9inch on the front and 11inch in back. Nitto NT555s. 275s and 395s.

Is there a such a thing as a finish line with these cars? Not from what I've seen. So, I guess I'm almost to the starting line.

Love the wheel choice!

Alchemy was delivered today to Eric Thorsen for the interior work.

Some pictures of the Ron Davis radiator, Budnik steering wheel, door handles and lock, cowl panel, windshield and windshield trim install. If everything goes well, when she gets back BOS will take a couple days to finish things up and we should be able to have the car at GG Del Mar. :woot:

Thanks alot guys!! I'm really itchin' to drive the car but in a strange way I'm kinda bummed. The process of building/restoring the car is coming to a close and it's been an incredible experience for Trevor and me. Of course, driving the beast is gonna be loads of fun, too. But, I won't be competing at GG Del Mar. D!ck made me promise not to drive it too hard for the first 500 miles. He knows how I drive Jean's Challenger.

Is there a RTTC2 this summer? :woot:

Fikse Wheels 03-16-2012 08:38 AM

I really like the color combination. May I use some of your pictures?

Bryan, we need to teach you and Jean to drive first, and maybe Trevor too, while we're at it. We all know he is doomed to fall in love with speed. There is no way he didn't get those genes. Didn't you tell me you got 19 speeding tickets in a year when you were a kid in Tucson? There are a bunch of shows and events this summer, and we'll make sure to get you over to something, even if it is just a little Good Guys "peanut" autocross up in Pleasanton!

Matt

Technically, it was Pima county 'cause I lived outside the Tucson city limits. Got to know the entire Sheriffs Dept on a first name basis. And it was my first year of driving. Took me awhile to learn how to slow down that '71 Firebird. :_paranoid

Here's a shot of the fresh air intake in the paint booth. Can't wait to see this installed.

Haven't seen the car in 10 days! Saturday I'll have pictures of the interior. We're going up to see Eric's work.

Here's a couple of shots of the trunk after Eric Thorsen worked his magic. Obviously, we'll be painting the lock mechanism black. I forgot to take pics of the completed rear seat and package tray. Oh well. I'll get full interior pictures Monday when the car arrives back at Best of Show.

Eric Thorsen does some pretty good interior work... I like what he did with your trunk.. I need to get BB back to him to finish out the trunk..
