Here are a few better shots of the 57 now that we have had some time with it completed. This one will be heading down to Miami in the next few weeks to find its new home cruising the streets of South Beach.

The Gasser Nova has also been wrapped up and is ready for delivery. This thing is just way too much fun to cruise around in and turn heads. Definitely a step back in time.

We are also wrapping up the 55 Nomad. A few details left to finish on Monday and then off to upholstery Tuesday morning. Nothing too wild on this one, just a very clean, original appearing car that the owner plans on putting a lot of miles on and having fun with.

Under the hood the owner was more concerned about reliability than looks so he chose stock GM components that could be easily sourced on the road if needed.

There are a few pics of the C10 back on page 19 of this thread. Now that the 55 and 57 are wrapped up, we are going to be back on the C10 and try to have that out to upholstery shortly.

Wow, I missed the C10 update too. Looks sweet! Any changes to the chassis or is it still as it was set-up when initially built?

Thanks, it is turning out to be a pretty cool little truck. The chassis is unchanged from when the truck was on the road in "original paint" last year.

Skip, thanks for the compliments, but we are probably not going to re-produce those. They were more of a 1-off design for this car and would be too labor intensive to produce in any quantity.

Does the C-10 have a rs performance IRS in it? If not, what kind of suspension are you running in it?

INTMD8 10-10-2011 08:46 AM

The Nomad is gorgeous, nice work :-)

The truck has a 9" with parallel 4-bar rear suspension. We built the truck before we had completed the Fast Track IRS unit. There are some build pictures where you can see various pics of the chassis on our web site.

What is your impressions of the

ABS electic brakes on the car above? Good modulation or are they a bit touchy?

Roadster Shop 10-10-2011 08:28 PM

Yes, it is an ABS electric brake unit. We have used several of them so far and really like them for cars that aren't going to see a lot of track time. They are a hair on the touchy side, but no where near as sensitive as some of the hydraulic units we have used in the past. The pedal feel is great for a street car, I would say OK for a track car. I still prefer a manual brake set up for track and auto x use for better modulation and pedal feel.

I would relate the ABS unit to a new foreign car. Have an Audi A4 and it is a real similar feel.

wellis77 10-11-2011 11:26 AM

Is the electric ABS a kit or something you have adapted?

tones2SS 10-11-2011 05:20 PM

Amazing work guys! Amazing.

Roadster Shop 10-15-2011 06:09 PM

Wellis, it is a kit from ABS Power Brake Co.

Here is one for the hot rodders on Lateral-G. Just wrapped up this 34 3-window using a SAR body for a customer on the east coast. We chopped the top, mounted all of the sheet metal, fabbed the exhaust and mounted all of the other components to get it ready for body and paint. The customer is going to finish the car himself, just needed all of the fab work completed.

It has been a while since I updated this thread so here we go!

We have the C10 just about wrapped up. Should be heading to Upholstery early next week.
http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...ture220103.jpg

http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...ture220107.jpg

http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...ture220101.jpg

Going to keep the interior pretty stock looking to match the exterior. Going with a set of 70 buckets with the original center console. Seats are going to be slightly bolstered, but keep the stock feel. We are thinking of black leather with black/white hounds touth inserts.

http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...ture220110.jpg

Roadster Shop 12-02-2011 08:08 AM

Also have been making some progress on the 67. The entire car has been cut and buffed now. Front clip has been installed and we are working on the trim. Still need to decide on the stripe for the car.

http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...ture220122.jpg

Honeycomb or mesh screens will still go in the bumper openings.
http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...ture220129.jpg

Engine still needs to be dressed as well. A 540 aluminum big block shouldn't take too much to make it look good though.
http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...ture220125.jpg

Fabbed a lower edge on the factory inner fenders for a clean, simple look.

Here are a few more recent projects that I forgot to post lately.

We wrapped up the 55 Nomad about two weeks ago. Pretty cool, resto-mod type build.

Here is another 33 with some unique custom touches.

Custom chassis using Johnson's Hot Rods Wishbones front and rear, Winter's Q/C, 5" drop axle and Buick style brakes for a real traditional feel.

http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...ture219064.jpg

The customer didn't want to see the rear coilovers from the rear of the car so we mounted them on the frame rail with a rocker arm set up.

A few nice detail shots of the build. There is a full build up on our web site for those interested in the original hot rod stuff.

Really cool shot of the back of the car. It makes a big difference whent he rear coilovers are hidden. The split and drilled bones have a great look with the Q/C here as well. We also fabbed the rear section of the car to look like a variation of a stock gas tank.

Final look with black top and the So-Cal true knock off wheels.
