See I told you soooo. Great job guys you have really set the bar high. Now you need to build a bad a$$ track car with out all the fluff and really tear it up. I hear this Phil guy can drive also

I still need to stop some day and check out your shop.

DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just flipped through this entire thread and I swear I have a plethora of curse words (In a good way) to describe how awesome this build is! Great work RS mad, mad, mad props!!

strtcar 07-13-2011 06:58 PM

Saw the car in person tonight, amazing work.

Roadster Shop 07-14-2011 09:32 AM

Thanks again to everyone for all of your support and great comments on the build! It has been great reading all of the posts that you have made in response to our work. As I said in another post, this year was an extremely top notch field of cars. Winning the SMOTY Award among such a high level of competition is an incredible honor! The rest of the top 5 cars were some of the finest pro-touring cars ever built, and there were probably another 5 cars that were worthy of top 5 recognition.

Looking back, the 15+ hour days and the obstacles that we had to overcome were definitely worth it. We couldn't be happier with the way the car turned out, and the reception that it has received. A huge thanks goes out to all of my guys in the shop for doing what needed to be done to complete a car to this level in a short 13-14 month time frame.

Thanks again,
Phil

the car looks amazing. white seems to be making a comeback. i never thought i would see a white car that still looked performance oriented.

i also like the door decals. nice touch, even with the typo;)

Typos, plural.

Nonetheless, the originality and execution of each car you guys build is second to none.

GoolsbyCustoms 07-14-2011 04:33 PM

Should have done a neon undercar kit to go with that fiber optic lighting:D

Seriously though pictures don't do this thing justice y'all have raised the bar

True --- But if you can spell... stuff like that jumps out at you.

FANTASTIC car build!

If Steve's Auto Restorations would have built my car so it ran and drove fine without all the headaches.... I'd have been happy to allow them a couple of typos on a label that can be changed in a nanosecond.

Roadster Shop 07-14-2011 05:29 PM

Yeah.... about that.... Our graphic designer is from Scotland, so that might have something to do with the spelling error. That and the fact that they were done at 3:00 AM at the end of a 15-hour day. But hey, we are hot rod builders not grammar experts. It is not the first spelling mistake ever made and I'm sure that it won't be the last. Thanks for pointing that out though; we will have a new set on the car tomorrow.

CG3D 07-14-2011 05:34 PM

Fil - I downt no whot you are talking aboot. My spellings are normilly immpeccible.

See.... it should be You're...

Frankly --- I don't care and would never have mentioned it... but catching it now, and correcting it, will actually save RS any embarrassment later. Now the car is PERFECT. :D

You missed the silent "r" in my name! Didn't mean to throw you under the bus there. You've seen my spelling and know I am the last person that can be pointing fingers!

OK, enough with the spelling lessons, back to what we are all here for... the cars!

mexMan 07-14-2011 06:43 PM

Really, I have no idea what typo are you talking about...

So is the book for sale?
