Super kool project Greg! I'm excited to see all the stuff getting devloped for these cars! Makes me want to get back on my 64. Just need to wrap up Beth's damn camaro.

I'm about 3 hours from Tracy's shop. I'll have to run down to check out the bub when it's there.

Thanks Ed!

I'd love you to see it at Tracys! It's got to be there early September and should be there a month. That gives him about 3 days to work on it and the rest of the time for fishing....

Can't wait to see what Tracy can do to it bring it to the next level:hail: :hail: :hail:

Greg, I love this build. I'm searching right now to on Ancestry.com to see if you are some long lost uncle I can claim.
Right now, it's not working out for me. As always, these builds of yours bring a new level of cars and entertainment.

Charley travels in that area of the country so you could be one of his....

Currently you have to be a professional car builder to qualify for support.

Don't you have to make money to be professional? Just sayin.

Nope, just be paid for the work! Making money has nothing to do with it! Therefore you are a real PRO!

No - you just have to be able to bill on an invoice topped with a rubber stamp... Negative cash flow has always been a sign of wealth... just ask the average American. If your wife has a great big Louis Vinyl (pronounced Vi Nell) purse - then you must be wealthy and therefore a professional (at something). :willy:

I'd rather deal with a very high value company like your's that turns out exceptional cars than a "professional" company that turns out exceptional invoices..........just sayin :unibrow:

I agree - the other option is to look at the LED Taillights that are on Semi Trailers and then build a custom housing. The size would be very similar to what is already on the 62 and it sure would be Trend-Setting. Then you could start a new venture selling custom LED Tail-Lights for 62's.

Heck I think the Ring Brothers said it best - We make more moeny selling parts then we do building these cars.

Just let me know what you want. I have the dealer status just no time to get them out to the masses. Greg's car is keeping pretty busy this month. We have a tight deadline to make paint by late April.

Sign me up for a set of the headlights too.

I'm digging the brown rendering. I have a 62 hard top I'm building as a DD and painting it Toyota sunset bronze mica.

ironworks 01-04-2012 03:29 PM

We got the SL500 seats set up on brackets in the middle of the car. The blocks of wood are just to hold the seat up on the outside until we get the outside rails of the chassis installed. These seats have a ton of adjustment, front to back, up and down, recline, etc. I think Greg can drive this car with just a phone book now.

http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...Jan2012017.jpg

Check out the heavy duty aluminum construction of the seat frame. These seats are heavy but really bitchin.

Make sure he can reach the pedals!

96z28ss 01-04-2012 04:41 PM

looks like seat needs to be forward 1.5 feet he'll never reach the pedals.
You might need to salvage a pedal assembly out of a car with the power adjustable pedals. even then it might need more travel.

GregWeld 01-04-2012 05:03 PM

I better try the seats out on the Saturday I'm coming down for GNRS... Going to do the show on FRIDAY then have lunch with Gonzo on Saturday... so then maybe I should cruise to Giantsville and make sure I can reach the pedals.

Then will be back down on my way to TexASS mid February.
