NOMARO soon to be lowered!!!! |
Ed,
I was going to offer the use of my shop which has built in chain hooks in the floor for pulling things down. |
It looks pretty good considering it needs close to 3" of altitude adjustment. :D
I've heard a lot of negative comments about the outcome of the car as it's very hard to visualize the appeal even with renderings until you see it near completion and/or in person. It was quite the leap of faith you took and I'd have to say it's going to bury a lot of the negative comments. |

Glad you both like the outcome, yes it is going down about 3" to 4" to get the look I am wanting. I talked with Bret at RideTech today about the coil overs from him so I can get the stance needed along with the performance. I want to keep the look like GM would of done from the factory or as a concept car. Motor will be painted chevy orange with aluminum valve covers and use the cowl air cleaner on the fuel injection so it looks some what factory. I am also looking at the American Racing Rally wheels in a 18" and 19" for the larger brakes but still keep the factory Rally wheel look. Interior is going with a set of 69 Camaro deluxe bucket seats covered with the black and white houndstooth and stock SS nova door panels in black with the Camaro center console and horse shoe shifter. Gathering the rest of the parts now and will keep updating this thread. Thanks for all the comments. |
Well I got the trunk cleaned up and painted this weekend. This car was really clean to start with but this really added to the finished look.
http://i1072.photobucket.com/albums/...ps1b265334.jpg Now it is time to work on the inside, clean and paint the floor and insulate it before carpet and seats. The floor was really clean as you can see before the paint work starts. http://i1072.photobucket.com/albums/...ps42ecb1f0.jpg It is nice to start with a clean car rather then buy one that is rough. Suspension and drive train is next. Ed |
That was a really solid car to start with, looking great Ed,when you expecting to have it finished?

Guess what showed up today...UPS with a bunch of parts.
http://i1072.photobucket.com/albums/...psa13ee573.jpg Also I took some 69 Camaro seats that I had and will use them on this project with the Camaro center console. Seats will get the black and white houndstooth. http://i1072.photobucket.com/albums/...psf3a6bc5e.jpg It was nice that the threaded inserts in the floor for the seats worked for the two outer seat bolts. I will have to make the inner mounting for the seats as this car had a bench seat and no holes for the inner bolts. Console and seats fit just like a Camaro... Ed :ups: |
There ya go again.
Now your putting the seats in before the Boom Mat and Carpet. Do you want me to call the guys at DEI and have them explain to you that you want to put the sound & heat insulation in before the seats and the carpet. ps - Just kidding :tv_happy: |

Im sorry, i love Nova's.... I love Camaro's..... But not together. The front end doesnt go with the rest. But that might be cause im too used to seeing them seperately. Or maybe its too Camaro-esque for the rest of the blend? Anyway, Your work on the other hand, is WAY up there, attention to detail is superb. Maybe if i look at it long enough...... Someday i'll get it!! Nice work still. Lead. |

I was like you at first, not sure about the look. the 2 separate body lines on the rear quarter through me off, but the more I looked at this project the more I came to really like it. |
The execution is definitely superb which makes it nice. I think something that may help it look "more correct" to those that aren't quite seeing it, would have been to use the non RS front end. That way the round headlights are out front like you're expecting to have on a Nova. Just a thought. I like this car and can't wait to see it finished. I love that it has an LT4.
|
I love it. Looks great. The only thing I don't like is the taillights being that big, but that's my opinion and not worth much..lol but I love it otherwise.

Loving it all!!
|
I like it Ed!!
|
Nice looking motor.
|
Looks great Ed,nice looking motor.
|
Good job, Ed. The motor really does look old school. I think a lot of people aren't going to realize right away it's a modern LT4.
|
Better have it all done and ready in the next three weeks so we can cruise it to Texass!!!

See you in a few weeks. The tour is going to be over the top. We have some really cool places to see and a great group of people going on the tour. Got all the window trim in, what a job. Door glass and trim is not my favorite. Dash and console are next. Ed |
Love it, will be tons better with different wheels (IMHO). Great project!

http://i1072.photobucket.com/albums/...psaf9959b3.jpg Also got the Lizard Skin installed on the floor. Little Dynamat and some insulation and ready for Carpet. http://i1072.photobucket.com/albums/...ps74318c8a.jpg Adding the Tach to the Dash and working with Classic Instrument to build custom center console gauges as I do not need two fuel gauges. Enjoy. :flag2: Ed |
Got drivers seat done with the new foam and hounds tooth seat cover. This should give it the original look but with the new wrap around foam support.
http://i1072.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4be8a049.jpg Now I can get the shifter and console mounted. |
