Things to do BEFORE the body drop ----

Headliner...

Rear seat panels

Just kidding.... That should be stiff enough to withstand the attack of the Payton!

snappytravis 08-26-2013 06:16 PM

Chassis is looking awesome!

Greg from Aus 08-27-2013 06:28 AM

Wow what a cool build.

:king:

Payton King 08-27-2013 10:02 AM

I hear you Greg

Should have been the perfect time to powder coat the frame and paint inside of car before the body went back on but it did not work out that way.

Body is on the frame

Powder coating is just going to make it heavier!!!!!!!!!!!!:ohsnap: :ohsnap: Pretty Cool.

syborg tt 08-27-2013 11:21 AM

My suggestion would be to have it blasted and then have it electrostatically painted. Have them do the entire car on the inside car and if you ever need to touch it up it is very easy.

GregWeld 08-27-2013 02:59 PM

I'd have it 24kt gold plated and change the threads name....

HAHAHAHAHA

Plenty of time for painting Payton!

byndbad914 08-27-2013 05:01 PM

Looking good - I am assuming there will be a cross bar added across the main hoop to strap the shoulder belts to? :)

Payton King 08-28-2013 05:48 AM

There is still things left

to do on the cage...corss bar, door bars, etc.

Cross bar is out to make tin work a little easier.

Electrostatic painting is a great idea.

Thinking about gold plating the intros that I have for it. Do you think it would be too much?

waynieZ 08-28-2013 10:44 AM

Looking good Payton.

Payton King 08-28-2013 11:13 AM

I do like the white and gold look

Almost went with a gold anodized rim for an old school look, so you were not that far off on the gold plating.

Now that the body is on the frame time for a little tin work. First order of business was the fire wall.

XLexusTech 08-28-2013 12:05 PM

love the Bead rolling.. Jakes Did a nice job.. cant wait to see more..
Would you consider an acid Dip? maybe that will get you the cleanup your after.

Payton King 08-28-2013 12:20 PM

Thanks guys

The roof skin and rear filler are being replaced. Not a lot of car left so I will just hand sand what is left.

The bead roll is really nice, wait till I post up pics of the floor and rear area.

OK that was a tease...did you go with one of the JRS embossed rear panels I am using a seat but if i wasn't i would have had them build me one.. I think they look killer..

How are the panels going to be finished?

Sound deadening measures?

Ron in SoCal 09-03-2013 08:14 AM

Racecar

Payton King 09-03-2013 08:30 AM

race car is correct

Will probably paint the interior of the car, cage and all, white. Will due some heat barrier under the car, may have to do it on top as well.
