Well.......I guess I shouldn't have spoken so soon because, once again, Rodger and crew blew me away with the rear part of the cage. In my previous post I had said that I didn't like how it was done but having seen it in person, I have to say, it is right on! (I hate it when Rodgers right! Dammit!)
Here's where we're at so far: Front UCA Mock-Up Drivers Side http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...riversside.jpg Front View http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...7FrontUCAs.jpg Trunk Cage Assembly fleshed out! http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...areaofcage.jpg Ironworks got the tailpanel installed and is just waiting for the 2 rear quarters to show up so that those can also be replaced. After that it's time to get the minitubs going! Can't wait!!!:woot: John |
Holy Crap man!! :wow: First time I have seen this thread, and all I have to say is WOW this thing is amazing. Has to be one of the sickest Nova projects I've seen. The fab skills are mad! Sorry for not viewing this before, but I am glad I did now. Amazing work, please keep us posted.

Me Likeeeee!!!! http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...3-22-07026.jpg Quarters came in so, hopefully, we can get them on next week! BTW, I've gotta give a big shout out to the guy that has been doing most of the fab on the car! His name is Brycen. He has also been instrumental in the design along with Rodger! I guess it's true what they say! Two heads are always better than one! John |
What was the overall diagnosis of the Steel rod ends threading into the aluminum A arms up front? Car is looking INCREDIBLE! Love the updates Nutcase... That kinda rhymed... Or its possible that i need a beer.. Withdrawls. haha
 |
these a arms are just for mock up. they are to fine tune the front end goemetry and the Cnc the new ones that are exactly what we want.
Rodger |
Ahhh, gotcha.
Yea im having a bit of problems suspension wise as well. Coilovers are to darn long... Thinking about cutting up the trunk... i dunno. :willy: Oh and Is that a 3rd gen nova that i see in some of the pics?...... With the mag wheels? |

Hmmmm.......
Did anyone catch what was parked in front of this awesome car???? Look at the wing...... looks like a Superbird. Rodger: Fess up.
By the way, my wife and I took a trip up to Bakersfield last weekend to visit Ironworks Speed & Kustom to see Novanutcase's 66 Nova. One word to describe John's Nova: AWESOME! There were members from STEVESNOVASITE there as well. It was great meeting John (Novanutcase) and his son. I was also introduced to Rodger (the owner of Ironworks Speed & Kustom)! What a shop..... totally professional work. The 300+ mile round trip was well worth it. Anyone considering have a car built: You won't regret having it done at Ironworks Speed & Kustom. They TRULY build cars from the inside out! Rodger and John (Novanutcase) openly discussed all aspects of 'The Nova'. I was in heaven. --Eric |
Well it is a charger with real super bird parts on it. It has some 2000hp hemi engine. It is being built by another shop in Bakersfield and we are just doing so of the fab that they cannot do. We are building the headers and exhaust. We are also setting up the steering. It is kind of a strange combo of nascar suspension with huge mickey thompson tire and prostreet rear suspension. And way to much horsepower for the street with a 12 gallon fuel tank. John has some pics of it if he wants to post them on here.
See ya Rodger |

I think he did a nice job don't you?!? http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...3-28-07023.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...3-28-07024.jpg Front end Redux http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...3-28-07019.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...3-28-07022.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...3-28-07021.jpg Rodger must have had a few on this photo! John |

The Roll bar is perfect in that thing!!! Looking Good John:) |
I think I have a tricky car until I see updates
on yours. You are playing on a completely different field. What a freaking car!
|
one question
The track width? (the one we are just finishing up is 52.75) with C5 suspension. what rack are you using it looks like a dirt/ oval track shortie rack? how is your bumpsteer curve? just wondering because we are embarking on another one. and just want to get a different point of view.
thanks |

looks killer however I dont envy whoever has to paint and body work that thing....being all one piece....it will not be easy. What are your plans for the bottom of the car? paint? powdercoat? speedliner?
absolutly insane project:thumbsup: |
I have been watching this car,I've seen alot of builds and this is a bad a$$ car.It would be great to get it to Columbus, iron works work is every bit as good as any i've seen.Your a good customer to let a shop build to this level. Can't wait to see finished product:thumbsup:

Oh ok i was looking atthe pics and thought the firewall was built into the tubing...must have been my eyes playing tricks on me. I like the idea of it all being one piece. with all the killer fab work I think I would powder coat the bottom of the car then go in and paint everything else. ITs going ot be awesome. I really dig the new transitions you made for the hinge pillar into the firewall...that is always such and ugly area on those older cars. |

Got the Front UCA geometry all set up. Tubular UCA's are for mockup only. We wanted to make sure all the measurements were right on before we started CNCing the UCA's!
http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...5-16-07024.jpg Drivers Side UCA Pick up point. http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...5-16-07025.jpg Brycen putting the headers back on! LOL! http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...5-16-07026.jpg We had to figure out how we were going to get the Transaxle and diff out if they needed to be fixed so we used some Step Joints(Thanks Pauza!) http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...5-16-07028.jpg The guys wanted to get car off the jig and on the floor so they've been finish welding a lot of the joints on the frame. Forking it off the Jig! http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...5-16-07033.jpg |
Rodger borrowed some wheels, since I'm a dumba$$ and I can't decide on what wheel I want, and put them on the car! Jake the wonder dog taking it out for it's maiden voyage!
http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...5-16-07034.jpg Whatever Sean may lack in stature(Yeah! like I'm some basketball player!!) he certainly makes up for in his fab skills. He's 5' 7"! The man is magician and the TIG is his wand! Sean standing next to the car to give you a perspective of ride height! http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...5-16-07035.jpg What do you think? John |
is that ride hieght? Looks nose up? BUT......dont get me wrong...its going ot sit real good. it has a killer stance in the rear.
|
Still need to do some adjustments since we just got it on the floor!:unibrow:

The car looks awesome. I love the stance. I would love to see some pics from the front end looking down the side. I am curious to see how much the front tires are tucked in. can't wait to see it with some chrome spinner wheels on it. |
