I guess it is about time to do an update. Been super busy in the shop.
It has just been details details details. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...2015%20004.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...2015%20006.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...2015%20007.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...fender-01l.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...2015%20012.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...engine-01l.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...2015%20007.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...2015%20016.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...2015%20010.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...2015%20005.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...2015%20011.jpg Yeah that should give you quite a bit to look at. SEMA will be here soon. Car goes to Sid Chavers on Oct 4th. |
So awesome to see an engine without some giant origami sheet metal cover. I hope this becomes a new trend we can credit to Ironworks.

Funny enough your the 3rd person to say that same statement today. Tracy Weaver said the same thing this morning on the phone. Thanks |
sweet man!

The paint came out beautiful, and Iagree I love to see the motor showcased like this one.
|
As always.........OUTSTANDING WORK!!!!!
|
wow nice update, been checking everyday for it haha Is that finish on the wheels a secret?
|
Quote:
Thanks guys. The wheels where shot peened in the middle and the edges where blasted with 120 grit glass for a smoother finish on the hoops. The wheels were then coated with a special mix Ceracoat. It was a lot of testing to get the finish we wanted. Just like the color on the car. I'm very happy with the results. |
The progress continues. The time is in the details. Trying to get everything just right.

We have the car back from Sid Chavers and he knocked it out of the park as to be expected. Dakota Digital has done a killer job on the gauge cluster with separate tach to resemble the old Sun Tach. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/IMG_5809.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/IMG_5808.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/IMG_5389.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/IMG_5365.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...2015%20010.jpg We will have specific T shirts for the Fairway 55 at SEMA and you can probably get one from my wife if you wanted. By calling the shop. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...Y-55-PC-V2.jpg |
This is a serious work of art!!!! Great job guys!!
|

Thanks guys. We are looking forward to completion |
Goes without saying, absolutely amazing build. The craftsmanship is truly top notch.
Question, this could be elementary, but I was wondering if you could explain the relationship between the DBW throttle body and the dual quad throttle bodies on the Holley intake. Are the dual quad bodies just there to hold the "air cleaner" or do they actually serve a mechanical or sensor function for engine operation? Just curious, as it is the first time I have seen a setup like that. |

Looking at some of the early SEMA coverage and spotted the 55....very nice. Can't wait to see some more details! Nice job Ironworks!
 |
Sounds nasty at idle with that Vortech...
|
Thanks guys. The Vortech guys asked us to remove the hood to better show the parts they are at sema to sell. So we took the hood off.
|
Saw a few pictures of the car yesterday and the car looks incredible.
|
|
I've seen pics of this car all over the net..looks awesome Congrats!

Thanks guys.

SEMA 2015 was a good week for us.
Saturday - We got the car done for the event. Sunday We made it safely to Las Vegas Sunday at 11pm The customer saw the car for the first time in person in months and loved it. Monday - We got parked in the Vortech Supercharger booth Tuesday - The madness begins - Show opens Wednesday night - We get word we got a GM design award Thursday 730am - GM design award for Best Hot Rod Friday - The Block.com does a nice article on the Fairway 55 https://theblock.com/news/2015-sema-...m-s-fairway-55 - We survive the SEMA Cruise and head home The car turned out awesome. We knew there would be alot of people who just don't get the car at all. But alot more got it then I ever thought would. Enough blah blah. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/1-8910_1.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/1-8909_1.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/1-8907_1.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/1-8908_1.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/1-8906_1.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/1-8903_1.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/1-8901_1.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/1-8905_1.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/IMG_4020.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...105_083025.jpg |
