Could you expand on the over sized glass? Was it a special order and how did you flush it?

Anyway, very nice build! :trophy-1302:

The oversized glass is a product that auto city classics offers, it is designed to be fit to the car. Both the front and rear glass are laminated and can be sanded to fit the opening (if you have a glass company in your area who will do it). I actually did my bodywork to fit the front but I left the rear a bit to tight, I am sending the back glass back to them to be sanded down to my pattern I sent them. As far as flushing it, I had a local glass company simply urethane it in with a small rubber moulding that glues to the back side of the glass to fill the gap. I hope that all makes sense.

The car is turning out really nice. One of these days I will install the same RFID in my 67 Firebird.

Take it off while you still can. I did this once -- big mistake. When the sun hits that metal it gets hot as hell -- and then the dynamat would let go - drop onto the glass if it was down... and well --- yeah -- that was a big mistake.

If it lets go it will push down the headliner. Have you ever had it turn loose from the roof, or was I just dumb for putting it there to begin with. Please tell me it's gonna stay, even if you don't believe it, haha.

I used 3M high strength spray adhesive on the door skin and roof to glue the dynamat. So far no issues yet, even in the Texas sun.

It makes perfect sense, thanks! I contacted Auto City Classics last year and they said they would update their site w better pixs ... that's been some time now!

Glad to see another some actual pixs of their products!

Just noticed the Pontiac emblem on the side firewall area. Nice touch!

I have CLD tiles(same thing as Dynamat, only better) from Sound Deadner Showdown all over the inside of the my truck. This includes the door skin and roof. No issues what so ever. Works really well. These are applied straight to the metal though. I do not have them on top of anything else.

Hey guys,

Still working through a bunch of details throughout the car. Wiring is finished now. Wanted to give you guys a little teaser.

Love the paint scheme!

Question!

Car looks fantastic ... great job!

Question .... can you provide the manufacture of the RFID unit? And any difficulties or abnormalities?

I was looking into the Advanced Keys AK-105B unit for my Camaro. http://www.advancedkeys.com/Prod_AK105B.html

Just wondered which you choose and how the install went.

Thanks,

Michael

Maybe its just the picture but is that front wheel centered in the wheel house?

Wow. Amazing build and beautiful bird.

What color did you guys use for the frame and engine block and covers?

EBmotorsports 04-20-2015 07:44 PM

Hey guys,

Got some more updates to you. On the final stretch now. Just working on dressing up the engine bay, inner fenders, intake, and some other odds and ends. The flush mount rear glass worked out really well.

Bonebuster29 04-21-2015 09:20 AM

very curious how you mounted the mesh in the louver holes you cut and how you got it to stay in place. Any pics you can post? Really dig the idea

EBmotorsports 04-21-2015 12:47 PM

we welded some studs on the back side of the quarter panels to attach the mesh and some small metal boxes that have a 2-1/2 hose attached that will run toward the rear brakes. Not sure it will actually cool them that much but "its the thought that counts" right? haha

EBmotorsports 04-30-2015 09:33 PM

Added the air intake. Had it powder coated the same color as the rest of the engine bar. Looking pretty sharp.

Been working on the interior today. Using some very nice German square weave and double binding. Color matched to the gray and titanium interior color scheme.

Eugene did you fit and bind the carpet yourself?

If so (coming from a guy that was in flooring for 36+ years) nice work.

I did, and thanks for the compliment. Sometimes I get into this stuff and just ask myself, WHY????

paulk68 06-06-2015 05:55 AM

Good lord, every detail of this car is well thought out and amazing. Nice work!!

Nice job as always, Eugene!

Hey ya'll,

Time for a BIG update today. Been working really hard to finish up this 1967 Firebird. Plan on taking it to its first car show this weekend. We should be up in Ohio as well.

The interior is coming along nicely. Fitted the console and other trimmings in today. Also working on the trim pieces in the front. Just need to install the bumper now.

Painted and installed the custom rear spoiler. It's looking very good.

Damn that looks good. Good luck making it to the car show, Eugene

EBmotorsports 06-11-2015 08:27 PM

Hey guys,

Wrapped up the trunk interior today. Used the same german square as in the cabin interior. Made a nice subwoofer box with top-end Alpine 10" subs. Also created a nice Pontiac logo between the speakers. Put a red LED in there so it lights up the Pontiac logo cutout in red.

Ron, we used auto city classics glass all around

EBmotorsports 06-13-2015 02:42 PM

Hey guys,

Got the car buttoned up for the car show today. Still have to install the kick panels and some filler panels in the engine bay, but otherwise looking pretty good.

What do you guys think?
