You guys with the decades long builds better get your sorry asses movin' or The Old Man is going to have project #3 completed before you! LOL
Got this from Eric (the builder) today. Chassis is ordered and truck cab and fenders are at the blaster. We'll see if Charlies love letter comes off or not. |

I'll remind you about all this smack talk when you're 6 months into the house build and trying to find somebody to whack your contractor...:poke: Jeff- |

Is it me or did that last statement seem a little sexual.

Did you know he stays with me in the toter? Not sure about that reference either ... But neither of us is from NorCal |

Glad you're on board! Eric (Pinkee's) is not good on updates with pictures -- so it will be tough to post much that way... and first time I'll see it and be able to do pics will be the end of September. I'll do a rendering once we settle on some details. |

NO PRESSURE..... |
I'm not sure if you are a fan of green (or if you picked a color at all yet).......
http://images.classiccars.com/classi...reet%2BRod.jpg A local shop is building a '50's Ford pick up in dark green and I think it looks great. Randy |
I'm not quite sure why he seems to be hiding the doors.... but the rest of the metal seems to be fairly clean.

It looks in really good shape. Nice way to start.
|
Clean metal is always a good thing!
On the doors maybe look at Charlie's new avatar?? :welcome3: :tiptoe: |

Did he ADD bullet holes now too?? |
Did he say if the metal is actually as good as it looks in the pics?

This is going to be such a cool piece! |

No -- he's not a big "communicator"... but it really doesn't matter -- it's a 1940 Pickup found in a backyard with weeds growing up around it. I know we're planning to replace the p/u box and both rear fenders. I'll just do fiberglass rear fenders from Wescott's for $500 a side and you can buy an entire new bed way cheaper than fixing a rotted out one. Quote:
Thanks Brandon.... It's looking pretty good in clean blasted steel! I'm really interested in seeing how the bottom of the cab looks. |
Because JCG hasn't "proofed" his '35 to '40 Ford chassis.... mine is being built by The Roadster Shop....
Sneak peek..... LOL... taken right off their advertising. http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...p/image002.png |

Yep, RS has proved theirs.

That's a proven fact! |
IRS?
So what'd you decide on the running gear? |

Ford 9" - coil overs IFS - coil overs Brakes Frame rails with some cross members Wheelbase stretched one INCH in order to center the wheels in the wheel well openings 'cause FORD didn't. It's an old hot rodder trick - one that Payton learned accidentally but we digress. |
1" won't be enough.
Nice call on the brakes and crossmembers... Ass. :buttkick: Dan |
I am a man...mine was stretched 3 inches.

I do love me a Combo plate

Greg's chassis is in the chassis fixture being built. We generally feel that a consistent theme through out the build really makes the car. We saw an early theme developing on this build and felt that the rear crossmember would be a good place to continue the theme.

Proofing FTW.

Nice of Charlie to contribute to the build.
