Right now it's Pro Storage. The shop painting the car doesn't have a lot of room, so they are doing their best to complete a high end project and make room for my car. The hope is that come February the process will start. It's of course a bummer to walk past the car in the garage and see it everyday, but I'm in good hands, so it's worth the wait.

Just gotta make sure Brent doesn't try and block me. :stirthepot:

:BlahBlah: :BlahBlah: :BlahBlah:  I'm in the same boat as you my friend....Pro Storage and waiting in the wings - although at this time you are closer than me. Looks like it will be February before he has any space for either one of us. Hopefully he will tag team the two of them together?

Pro-Snoring.... it seems like it's anything BUT pro touring these days...

That motor seems like a great combo... and you can crank up the power later once you get bored with it... because you will. :stirthepot:

This infinite wisdom coming from a guy that has never even broke in an engine in between the frame rails of a pro touring car. :peepwall:

That will be a perfect set up Curtis. :flag2:

He took a paint scrapper to the roof of my car while he was out here for SEMA. :confused18: He better be....needs to finish what he started!

Rick D 12-22-2014 04:53 AM

Curtis, who's doing the paint and body? I just don't understand why some guys take soooo long to get these done? Not saying it's his fault but if he has the spot for your car and you have the funds it really doesn't take that long to do full paint and body!! Or is it just going to be a while before he has the slot for your car?

And yes I know ALL the factors that go into P&B work been doing it since the 80's :confused59:

Rick,

I'll chime in on this because it's the same guy doing my paint on the 55 and also did Malitude for Jody. He is a one man show and does this at his shop at his house. He works full time at a shop doing collision work by day and burns the midnight oil doing what he really loves...Hot Rods by night. Currently he is finishing a very high end complete Restoration on a 1967 Shelby. This car isn't in for just paint - but a complete restoration that will drive out of his shop. Seeing what he has gone through on this to make sure it is "Correct" by Shelby standards just validates why I like doing custom work instead. Once the Shelby is done my car and Curtis' will probably slide in together and get tag teamed. We all want our stuff done now but we knew what we signed up for. Good things come to those who wait!

Very true Vince, and most times the client is NOT in the loop on what's going on.

Sounds like you guys are in good hands for sure!!

Agreed! Clear communications are super important and we've all seen what the lack of can lead to.

You know it! Not going to lie...I'd love it if the car was being working on right now, but it's so going to be worth the wait and extra time.

Very cool plan Curtis.

Plus, since he's doin a Shelby he'll know how to put a proper set of Furd stripes on a 1st gen.

UMMMMM :smiley_smack: :smiley_smack: NO!!! :hello:

GregWeld 01-06-2015 07:15 AM

Just tow your Camaro over to CorteX Racing and in no time your dreams will come true.... but if you want your Camaro to truly look like a Ford - at least paint it in Ford racing colors/stripes so as not to confuse people. LOL

The other day I was reading the GG Gazette -- there was a '55 Chevy sporting a 472 Hemi. At first I thought WTF! But then THAT is a real hot rod!! I'd love to lurk around at a car show and hear the comments.

Ain't that a bitch! I'm eligible in 9 months. Gotta say though I'm looking forward to having more time to play with my toys.

Just thinking, isn't Count's Customs in Vegas? Are they any good?

LOL --- yep - you can toss that watch... and you'll have 6 Saturday's and a Sunday. You'll know it's Sunday when the big paper comes.

I've been retired for 23 years... my toys have worn me out. I'm a slave to them. HAHAHAHAHAHA

Yes they are, but I am pretty stoked about my current plan. I've seen the level and quality of the work and it's far better than I expected. It's worth the wait!

Doing the best I can. Thankfully I've got Jeff helping me. Just a few more parts and I've got everything needed to finish it up as soon as it get's back from paint. Waiting is the hard part, but it's probably a good thing. Saves me some coin on speeding tickets.

Hey Curtis....Just thinking out loud here but I'd venture to guess we have more top quality Protour builds and being built right here in Vegas then just about anywhere else I can think of.

Your 67 is going to be sweet for sure.

Thanks John. Yeah there are a few happening right now. Should make Cars and Coffee a bit more interesting. Lot of good guy to get out and cruise with once they are all done.

Oh yeah! Happy Wife, Happy Life!

Jeff helped me find a 5th gen console that will be modified to hold some Autometer gauges. He has one in his car and really nailed the install. It fits as if it was made for the car IMO. I'll post pictures in a few...about to run out the door.

Curtis, let me know when you get closer to the install of the console. I just made a second version of my original 5th gen console brackets into our cars, makes installation pretty easy. Here are the front and rear ones. Yeah, the cool thing about the 5th gen consoles is besides 2 nice cup holders, you can also have 2 more 12v plugs and a usb plug directly into the radio.
