Correct, I'll just live with it, because .25" is such a small tolerance that it'll be ok. It would only bring the tire outward towards the quarter panel just a tad bit more to my personal liking. But, I definitely wanted to make sure the tire didn't hit the quarter panel and that's why I went with the measurement I did to be safe for that very reason...I didn't want any rubbing.

thats an easy fix if you want to move just add a .25 spacer. Its the other way thats a problem

Exactly Mike!! Those were my thoughts, therefore I played it safe and cut my number by 1/4 inch and all was well.

Looks good Marcus, I’d leave it alone. It’s going to move around while racing….I mean driving…and you’ll appreciate the .250”
That car is already due for its first wash and you haven’t even started it yet. :poke:

Yeah, I'm gonna leave it be Scott. Not a big deal at all. I'm gonna get out in the garage tomorrow and try and put the brakes on if I can stand the heat. Y'all know about these Texas summers...it's way too hot.

214Chevy 06-18-2021 11:19 AM

Got out in the garage for a few hours the other day and finished up yesterday. Got the brakes installed. I don't think I mentioned either that I'm using Dakota Digitals TPMS system. Not something I needed, but just figured it'd be a cool function to have.

Wheels and brakes look awesome!!!! Fitment is perfect!

214Chevy 06-25-2021 11:48 PM

Well, not much of anything new, appearance wise. I pushed it outside today for the first time since I brought it home and washed it. Had to get nearly 8 months of dust off of it. You can see in the second pic how the car will look black-ish with dim/lack of light or at night time. I was wiping it down as if I had somewhere to go. I fantasized about starting it up and driving it off, all cleaned up. :drive::lmao: It was supposed to get the exhaust done this month, but that's a no go. The shop is running behind, so I got pushed back to mid-July. So, we'll see...

Nothing big, but finally got around to getting the exhaust and driveshaft installed after waiting for several months. The shop was backed up like a lot of shops are and, of course, supply chain slowed material deliveries.

Yep Jody, was supposed to have it done in June/July.

Lots of wiring and plumbing going on. Should be finished in the next week or so.

jarhead 01-31-2022 04:08 PM

Wicked!

Ketzer 02-01-2022 06:25 AM

Soooo close! Just in time for summer shenanigans!

Che70velle 02-01-2022 07:26 PM

Appreciate the update Marcus! Need a startup video. This thing is going to be the boss!

After waiting for what seems like forever…finally got the intake tube made and upper/lower radiator hoses made and powder coated. Also, installed the rear axles and had to custom make a throttle cable bracket as no one has an off-the-shelf one for a Whipple 4.0. If so, I couldn't find it. I even called Whipple and they were no luck. I still have to get the power steering hoses made to connect to the Hydroboost and rack and pinion setup. It came with hoses, but I'm not too fond of the old school stainless braid as all of my other hoses are black. So, I'll have to get black hoses and fittings.

syborg tt 06-21-2022 08:43 AM

The engine bay looks awesome.

dhutton 06-21-2022 09:27 AM

Put some black loom on those power steering hoses and send it… :)

Don

Dang it...you know what Don?! I didn't even think of that. That'll be a lot more cost effective

garickman 06-21-2022 10:01 AM

Looks so bad ass! Nice job.

Depending on the fittings (size/orientation), you could look for heat shrink tubing that can slip over the existing stuff. McMaster Carr & similar supply houses offer a decent variety on size/lengths.

I've used it over braided stainless before for a quick/easy solution that's cheaper vs re-making the lines. I think Concept One had a variety of black high pressure lines as well. I believe they were who I sourced the lines from on my dually (build your own kit).

Engine bay looks so good!

Looking good, Marcus! I really like that you're staying black and clean versus polished and shiny everywhere. Good luck!

Not much going on

It's crazy that I haven't done much to the car and two years has flown by. Here's a little update on something I've got in the works for a grill. Soon as I get a final design done and the file completed, I'll send it to Shawn at EVOD to get cut.

camcojb 05-10-2024 05:54 PM

That's cool.

All lines are ran and all fluids are in the car and should be checking for leaks this week as time permits. Can hopefully start the car up for the first time next week and get it tuned. Andrew (forum member) will be moving to a city near Dallas this summer and that'll be a great help.

frankv11 05-11-2024 10:01 AM

This thing is going to be on another level 👏👏👏

camcojb 05-11-2024 04:32 PM

WSSix 05-12-2024 06:42 PM

Glad to see progress being made. Keep it up, Marcus.

Che70velle 05-14-2024 07:57 PM

Marcus, Andrew is the best possible choice for Holley tuning available anywhere. You made a great choice there. It’s amazing how fast 2 years can go by us. Great to see you back on this thing and posting again.

100% correct!! If Andrew mentioned moving to the Dallas area on the forum, I must have missed it. I didn't even know he was moving here until forum member Don Hutton told me. I truly appreciate Don as he's been an extremely HUGE help to me with this build. I'm going to hate finishing the car as I won't have anything to bug him about. :y0!::lmao: Yes Scott, it's amazing how time flies. Hopefully it's not another 2 years by the time I get the interior done. I hope to have that wrapped up by summer 2025...this time next year. Fingers crossed!! I've got all of the stuff to do it...door panels, front and rear seats, Relicate leather, etc. Jus got to get the funds to get it done. The convertible top is scheduled to be done this August. I'm on the guys schedule.

Swapping out the Fesler fog lights for the new Dapper billet fog lights with the halo rings that match their headlights, which I have. Both, headlights and fog lights, have the amber switchback option when the blinker is on.
