update!

Visited the shop today and work is progressing. They are basically finishing up on some last minute touches. Pretty much everything has been finish welded. Rear shock mounts have been reinforced for extra strength. Exhaust is fully completed.

Work has been concentrated on some last minute touches to the front end bumpers and fenders. Like i said the last minute things before the body shop gets it. The big part is the engine bay. The way this thing is set up is awesome. What you'd expect from opening the hood in a supercharged car, you can pretty much forget about. Totally different way of plumbing the supercharger (procharger) and a few other things regarding it that ive been sworn to secrecy about!! I have never heard of a supercharger being setup the way they are doing it. Procharger really stepped up and overnighted pretty much everything we needed to supercharge the 572 beast. Their supercharger looks sinister and its cool to work with them on it.

I dont know how you couldnt be excited for something like this. My dad always wanted to get a Nova since he parted with his 30 years ago. Its going to be bad ass to ride with him in one after hearing so much about the original car he had.
As far as troy goes and any builder for that matter...they are only going to build so many cars in their lifetime and its awesome to be part of a build like this. Anyone with some $$ can walk into a dealer buy a porsche, ferrari, or other high end sports car (which are still cool)....but in my mind these cars are where its at!

I agree. Troy's stuff is more that a cool car. They are works of mechanical art. He is the best. I will be down there before the car goes to body shop for more build pics for my magazine. I can't wait to see the progress. I love Nova's.

Great video, Kevin and Kelle.

Love Troy's sense of humor.

What a fantastic car.

V8TV 01-06-2008 10:13 AM

I'm just glad you guys had the opportunity to have a killer car built and you took it! The car is awesome, it's going to be a hell of a lot of fun to drive. If it does go to YearOne, we'll shoot a full feature of it there.

cmraman 01-06-2008 11:17 AM

The video is great and that is one BADASS car. I can't wait to see it on the road.

I agree, will be nice, and that is something thats cool. Wonder if they just used a left mount one or if had one built. If you had one built then you may want to go ahead and get a few extra parts so downthe road you are not scratching your head...

V8TV 01-06-2008 06:32 PM

It's actually pretty similar to the way many NMCA type street-legal drag cars work, plumbing the forced air charge back into the icewater filled intercooler in the pass seat or trunk, then back through the cowl into the TB.

As for "having one made", I'm pretty sure it's all in-house at this point...

96z28ss 01-06-2008 06:53 PM

Can I suggest you guys get a light put on you camera. cause the video is real dark

is this set up intercooled? I have seen the plumbing come throught firewall but never the throttle body mounted near the charger.....

I don't think this car is, but the design is similar to the intercooled race cars, by running the compressed charged back to the cabin and then forward.

V8TV 01-06-2008 09:36 PM

We just posted a re compressed version that is much brighter.

The car will not be intercooled, but John Meany came up with a way to get the compressed air as cool as an intercooler can. I am told I can not go into any more detail than that. They will be able to make at least 1000hp with the original compression ratio.

Deeznuts 01-09-2008 07:50 PM
