I had a blast in it this summer. I love it, handles like it's on rails. Everything a pro touring car should be!! Hopefully I update the interior this winter. I already have the recaros

Hopefully you are finished next summer and we can get a few PT cars in the area and do a local cruise.

Hey guys thanks for all the great comments... means a lot! Its been a roller coaster ride but I'm now seeing the end and cant wait to get there. Its actually hugger orange with Toyota code 044 white stripes. Thanks for the tip Joe VanNus !!! Lou I have no idea how many coats of color and clear but I've been told by my painter that he's has gone through 2 gallons of clear LOL. I was told today the car should be ready to come home this Friday. So I hope to have it all assembled and running by the spring.

The body and paint work are high end! Attended many Goodguys events and could say without a doubt this car can sit beside some of best built cars and definately belong. As for the wheels, you're right on Jeff - the original design team at Fikse nailed it, timeless piece.

Congrats Steve it does look great indeed bud....

"pro66tour" you're right his paint work has stood up with the very best at GG events for years... As a matter of fact his work has been on the cover of "Chevy High",, shown at SEMA on multiple cars/occasions, judged at the Optima in no less than 5 separate cars, both full feature + Cameo shots in Camaro performers and on Television in R U faster than a Redneck.. Mike "Pablo" Tersigni is no stranger to this game with over 30 years experience and in fact the guy that actually created "Candy Cherry Black" as a color/recipe using house of colors paint.. He is well regarded within the old school folks there and is likely the best painter in my opinion in the city,, if not region period...

Rybar 12-26-2014 11:11 AM

Looks awesome as you know I love the wheels. Big milestone what you've just got done its all downhill from here!

Al Moreno 12-26-2014 04:20 PM

WOW Major mile marker, congrats Steve!

'Tazz..' That's an impressive portfolio, and excited about the prospect of Mike laying the paint on my car at some point in the future, and so close to home too!

Yeah it's awesome having him right here in our backyard indeed... He's a really fun guy as well so it always been great dealing with him too.

glassman 12-27-2014 08:25 AM

Man this car just "does it" for me. I' cant quite put my finger on it of "what" exactly it is, quite likely its "the sum of the total" cause everything is just right.
Great wheels, great paint (color/stripes/quality)....

Finish it up soon....

Mike, I have a pretty good idea why Steve's car 'does it' for ya…

It's the same thing that happened to you (and all of us) the first time you laid eyes on a muscle car as a kid (and maybe a first gen), only this time you know what it's truly capable of. The spectrum of protour is quite wide, but knowing Steve, like me - It's about keeping the car looking like it rolled off the factory floor with subtle changes, with a wheel and stance combination that screems, "It just has to be this way!" :D

aany001 12-28-2014 06:40 PM

Guys thanks for all the great compliments!!!!!!! This car would have never happened if it wasnt for a few really good friends!!!! First off my buddy Sam that did all the fabrication and chassis work. His work is second to none and he really brought this car from a daily cruiser to a serious contender at any event. Gotta give a big shout out to Mike (Pablo) my painter who really made my car pop!!!!! I never imagined it would come out this good!!!What really blows me away is that this car was built in my 2 car home garage. How am I gonna drive this thing!! Im stressed out lol.:thankyou:

Thanks Tony really pleased with the results. Your car was an inspiration for my car. Love the classic look of all the factory trim and badging of a 69 Rallysport Z28 with the stripes and Fikse wheels!!!!! Killer combo in my opinion!!!!!!

ItDoRun 12-31-2014 03:23 PM

Looks incredible, bro!!!! You know I'm partial to those wheels too!!!

Yes sir I remember what happed to ya when you ordered your Fikses. Never too late to pick up a spare set.

Rick D 01-01-2015 06:32 AM

Looks great Steve, nothing like fresh paint and kick AZZ wheels to make it look great!! what wheels are thought again?

Che70velle 01-01-2015 09:50 AM

I love this color on a first gen. Not trying to be agreeable here, but the paint on your car is show quality, super nice. I hear you on the "how am I gonna drive it? " thought. Been there, and done that.

Thanks bro. I was thinking when I wrote that post that our cars probably were identical when they were new (Mine was Hugger Orange plain Jane) and now they are both RS Z28s with the same stance and wheels just different colors. You have excellent taste!!

Vega$69 01-01-2015 03:14 PM
